Is Tisas a good 1911 option?

That's it, again just browsing around one popped up from hrfunk, he loved it too, looking forward to getting one, it's amazing the interest this thread over a 400 buck imported 1911 has generated, been entertaining

Yeah that seems to be the case, I never saw that one from 8 years ago but holding one yesterday I'm repeating but I was impressed, I liked the greenish gray finish, hard to believe at one point 339 bucks, really seems to be exceptional for the price

Hi,
You guys need to be careful of maybe a little snobbishness???

If the pistol being forged, came out with "Bill Wilson" or "Nighthawk" on the side for $1200, would you love it then???

A Wilson Forged 1911 Frame, by it's self is close to $400!

Another thing, these pistols (Tisas) will not stay at this price forever, either...

As more people "get it" on how good a bargain it is, they WILL go up in price!!!

I say the same thing about my Bul 9mm Commander if you can find one in stock, you may find the price has already gone up,
compared to what mine cost a few months ago.

Well the Tisas have gone from 330ish to 400-450 so still cheap but not as cheap but can't think of much that hasn't gone up significantly over last year or two though‍♂️

Many of the so-called cheap really have not taken a significant jump over the years. Many have jumped from inflation, not merits. There are always exceptions, but these are rare.

I'm not sure where or how to post this anywhere else, but here goes. I just saw that Sportsman's whse. has Tisas 1911's on sale this weekend. Tisas1911 A1 9mm $399.00, Tanker $399.99, Tisas 1911 duty 5" bbl $479.99 in blue, and the same gun in stainless for$569.99 those are 45acp. Sounds like a good deal to me. Sportsmans outdoor superstore.

I went with a RUGER SR1911 CMDR model for my less expensive .45ACP, can`t remember the price. FYI had an old colt 1911a1 in PERSIAN GULF WAR in 90-91...Army would not let me keep it...

Tisa is not known for very good springs. The Tisa that I have seen had problems with the recoil spring not being a quality spring then the slide would not lock up. A cheap $35.00 fix. Many had feed ramp problems. According to the value of our dollar, everything is going up not because we're getting more quality. For example, I bought an aluminum trailer two years ago. It costed me $2100..Today that same trailer is $2800.

Hi,
I'm looking for a Desert Eagle/BUL, 10MM 1911 and there is none to be found?

I have no idea, on when, it may be available?

Hi,
If TISAS uses the NOVAK Sight Specs and have a Forged frame and slide that would be a big plus to me, over an RIA.

I've had 2 RIA's and I won't buy another...

I would try a Tisas, if I found a good price on one.

There are Blueprints and specs for the 1911, going back a hundred years, as it WAS a Military weapon, yet...

These Makers, want to screw with perfection, it seems, and go off the specs???
I have (2) Tisa's, a 380 and the Browning Br9 Clone in stainless. Both are excellent firearms. The Tisa 1911 in 45 feels and looks like the Ruger SR1911 at a much lower price point. I own a Ruger SR1911 in .45, one of the first 100 units made. For the money, I think the Tisa 1911 .45 would be a good buy. I currently have (6) 1911's various manufacturer's and not looking to add more. The looks, fee, trigger of the Tisa unit, if I were in the market, I would give it a try with no regrets. Just my 2 cents.

Look up Bul Armory, they may have one??? I have a Bul Armory 1911 in 9mm, it's a Tack Driver and the build quality matches similar guns that sell for three times the price. Bul Armory makes Desert Eagle guns in various calibers.
