Charles Daly 1911s

Hi,
Those Slides are forged, wonder what the steel looks like where it broke???

Large grain size, inclusions, maybe bad heat treat that you can't see of course.

I'm sure TISA USA will make it good.

To many people enjoying those pistols now to really write them off!

Not everyone has $3000 for a 1911...

Admittedly, never saw a slide break like that???

That definitely looks like it broke off, the small piece is where you can see the jaggedness. But the way it broke, I have a very hard time believing that's not cast.

Still have not purchased one at the moment, but keeping and eye out. Honestly I didnt purchase any firearms in 2024 so 2025 should be good.

Spend enough time on the web, reading posts & you'll find ALL firearms, not just 1911's do have faults & failures.
My gunsmith had a barrel on his bench , from a customer's Colt..guy bought it & was getting poor accuracy. The barrel had NO rifling .. it was a smoothbore!
Have no idea how that passed QC, or how the "new owner" that bought it didn't notice this.
I could only conclude the guy must be new to both handguns & 1911's...

Years ago I had a parttime job in a sproting goods store. We had a S&W semi auto I believe with no rifiling in tha barrel too. Humans make mistakes, so do machines because of the human factor involved. LOL

This just made up my mind...NEVER to get a TISAS....Their entire lineup of 1911s at minimum should be recalled in the USA!

FYI, This is not mine, It came from another site.
I just got word back from a gunsmith friend of mine, he remembered this picture, from many years ago. According to him, it was a set-up from someone trying to get a free upgrade on a pistol. Don't know all the details, but it is a fake, according to him. FYI, just passing the info along. Don't shoot the messenger:oops:

I just picked upp my second Tisas Tank Commander today. It's beautiful! I don't know if It's actually nicklel or if it's something that looks like it, but I think it's gorgeous! Haven't shot it yet too busy, but soon. It has a beautiful trigger pull, very smooth. The thing even has a checkered trigger face. Very cool gun!

I too am a fan of wide spur hammers
I don't know much about Tisas however from what I have read they look to be a fine example of the Colt 1911.
To me the classic look of the 1911 is the draw. I like the look & feel of JMBs 1911 the way it is.

I lik the M1 & the M14 just the way they are 2.
