Is there a reason why I should buy a JP speed hammer, or can I just grind the back off of a mil-spec hammer? Is there a big difference in steel quality for the contact points on the sear and disconnector?

I have a gift certificate to Burris that I need to use. I was looking at the Burris XTR II 1-8. I like the FFP reticle, but I am curious as to how small it gets on 1 power? I have a Bushnell elite FFP scope, but I don't like how the reticle basically turns into a dot on 1 power.

We had a discussion this weekend about if the rifle and shotgun have to be shouldered while firing a shot in 3gun competition? There was a row of back and forth hoser targets between barrels that it was faster to just hold the rifle out and pull the trigger instead of shouldering it.

So..... I put a Giselle 3G trigger in my 9mm AR lower. The trigger won't reset while holding the trigger back and racking the bolt. It resets fine if I let go of the trigger. Is this bad? Do I have hammer follow and full auto?

What's the difference with magnum primers? I can get a bunch of small pistol magnum primers for cheap, but don't know the difference. Will they work fine for 9 and .40? Or should I wait to find regular ones?
