I quit the NRA when I learned that Wayne LaPierre (and a bunch of his cronies) went on a huge African safari hunting trip a few years ago... And, uh, you know, word got out that most of the $$$ for the trip wasn't exactly on their own dime!!:mad:
Maybe Ollie will change some of that, I hope.

Meh,.....I heard some leftist news rags report this. I never did see a credible news source report this. You got a link to one?

Life member here.

I support the NRA but I'm a realist. They spend too much money on fund raising and unnecessary activities, they make some decisions I do not support and there is an awful lot of busy work going on that doesn't make sense to me.

I also benefit personally from NRA membership. Like someone who posted earlier, my local outdoor range requires an NRA membership and I need to maintain the NRA RSO. I bought the Life membership on the discount deal they had earlier this year.

I do not limit myself to the NRA. The Texas State Rifle Association, Gun Owners of America, 2nd Amendment Foundation and others get some of my support as well.

The NRA does some good stuff. It's not just politics. Their Friends of NRA auction banquets raise money for scholarships and local programs. I never went to one until this year and I learned a lot. The lady who organized ours actually got one of the scholarships when she was in high school 15-20 yrs ago and puts her time into it for free because she got a lot out of it.

It's a shame they have to spend so much on politics. I'm sure they'd rather not, but they do.

Now they are coming after these.
Sadly, only around 400,000 Member's are with GOA Larry *son Eric) Pratt, the ONLY NO QUARTER GIVEN Gun Owners of America.
I am a year to year member for both and have been for 30years,The NRA sucks at time, but with over 4-5 Million NUMBERS mean something.
I do not give them EXTRA Donations, GOA I DO.
