Good God, that is truly unbelievable. So sorry your having your own nightmare with AF. Hopefully this will be warning to all fanatics to stay the hell away from this company. Good Luck and hope your eventually able to get you money back.

They are a few thousandths of an inch each, stainless sheet shims. Crudely cut with tin snips and simply laid on top of the slide. The sight screwed down on top. A few shots displaced them and they started sticking out from the side. A few fell out. Must have taken five minutes to do. Could not have test fired without knowing this would never work. I don't think they fired the gun.
I was just told by Battlehawk Armory where I bought it new, that I am on my own. They will not assist.
I think we will have to spread the word ourselves about this company. I understand that Alpha Foxtrot is owned by some big venture capitalists group.
should have got a Dan Wesson. I have a few of them and love 'em. I'm not going to give up on this although A.F. has no real contact info and no real customer service. Might have to go directly to the factory in South Korea.
Bad experience all around.

Check out "Dasan USA" which is their parent company. Look at their reviews also. They are going to learn the hard way that customer service is critical in some industries. Firearms is definitely one of them. Unfortunately their cash flow is probably large enough to keep them in business for a while. The little double stack 1911 that takes Glock mags is a good seller and is getting good reviews. Of course if something ever breaks or needs attention, you are on your own.
I will update if anything changes. Don't hold your breath.

I read somewhere or saw in a video a guy was having an issue with his Stealth Arms and owner of company flew or drove to him and fixed it, I don't remember circumstances that required such a drastic but impressive bit of customer service, might have been Humble Marksman video, he was really impressed with the Glock mag using double stack 1911. These disasters with the AF are really sad, hate it for everyone having trouble

1st.. Thank you for sharing your experiences with this firearm & the company behind it.
Though I'm not in the market for a new 1911 ( ?... ! ) I would steer clear of this brand.

I had a somewhat similar experience with MetroArms.. maker of the American Classic line of 1911's.
Their 1911's are / appear to be a slight upgrade over Rock Island 1911's.. w/ better finish, more features, etc @ a slightly higher price.

My 1st 1911 in 9mm was a Rock Island GI model, all they offered @ the time. I purchased an American Classic 9mm in a Commander size,
following my RIA purchase, as I liked the features & appearance. It has the "smoothest" frame-to-slide fit of any 1911 I've owned.
Shortly after purchase , while cleaning the barrel following a range trip..thought I had a small piece of lead stuck in the rifling.
Scrubbing wouldn't remove it. Took barrel to my gunsmith..he's got a large, illuminated , magnifying glass.
Examining the barrel, it was clearly a void / defect "pit" in the barrel itself. Tried contacting the company, w/o success..finally found a gunsmith
that had contracted with the company to handle their "warranty work". I was told it was policy that I'd be required to send him the entire pistol
( couldn't send just the defective barrel) so it could be examined, then determined if any warranty work would be covered.
Shipping was @ my expense. Decided it was less expense & trouble to buy a replacement barrel from Midway, & have my gunsmith fit the barrel.
Though my American Classic is a fine pistol ( now ).. I wouldn't recommend the company or brand to anyone, due to the company's attitude toward
providing customer service.

I bought my boys each a 9mm and 45acp Metro Arms and like you said finish is amazing. Not many rounds thru them to this point but no issues so far, I guess you never know about customer service till you need it. I can say with one experience RIA was fantastic, this was with an older shotgun but can't imagine being any different with a 1911

NEW NEWS! Today I got a call from Alpha Foxtrot out of the blue. I had been leaving some sketchy reviews on some of the web sites I frequent. I don't know if this had anything to do with the call but things have significantly changed. They have offered a full refund and admitted that a recall for the optic cut is being considered. Maybe there is light in the tunnel for Alpha Foxtrot. I think they have realized that the fire arms business is not a place to hang people out with customer service. We don't back down! They are processing a full refund and I will consider a purchase in the future. It is a lot of gun for the money. If you compare this to a Dan Wesson Specialist, you would be missing the threaded barrel and an optic cut. I like to shoot suppressed and have converted totally to optics so the Specialist would need considerable work. But this one is all done and includes a real nice and robust DLC coating. They have a considerable way to go to prove a commitment to customer service, but have just taken one step in the right direction with me. Thanks AF! Maybe the squeeky wheel does get some grease once in a while:)

Alpha Foxtrot paid for me to ship the gun back. They supposedly mailed out a refund check today. I will update when/if it arrives.
Bought this (pic) for $300 more than the AF. It is missing a rail and the optic cut, but I am confident I am getting my money's worth. I have 200 rounds through it now and it is wonderful. Will add an optic down the road. Awesome gun! Dan Wesson WraithIMG_1108.jpeg

Looks very nice, Tim from Military Arms Channel did a short on how cool the AF was being small and 15 rounds using Shield mags, usually he's the one that has problems with guns. Anyway glad you're getting this problem made right

I got the check last week. It's all cleared and done. I feel it's a shame the company that owns AF is so sketchy. They really do make a fine firearm. I have the little double stack 9mm they sell and other than being chambered pretty tight I really like it. I just can't get it to feed my coated practice rounds unless I load them real short. It feeds my self defense rounds just fine. After the encounter with customer service I am not sure about them. The DID do everything they said the would eventually. I think they have ONE person here in the states handling their problems. They did admit on the phone to me that they got the optic cut wrong on the 10mm. I noticed these are still in stock and being sold. Not sure if they were fixed or not.
The guns are made in the far east, South Korea. Things are different over there. Less scruples when it comes to business I think. Maybe they are attempting to do the right thing but here in the US it's more about customer service. They will definitely need to up their game a bit to succeed here. I am happy to say that it worked out for me after a bit of a fight.
