I'm furiously trying to get some gear together to go shoot some USPSA matches this weekend in OKC and Tulsa, but I had a question about my current setup. I queried earlier in another thread about my G17 with Streamlight, and was informed that I couldn't use lights of any kind on my weapon. I would just take it off, buy my current (only) holster (Raven Phantom OWB straight cant) is molded for the pistol with the light attached. Anyway, I got to looking through the rules and noticed that under the Open Division appendix, that weapon lights are permitted. Is this accurate? Wanting to make sure I wasn't misinformed.

Another question I have involves the particular modifications I've made to the weapon besides the light. I've installed a Glockworx ultimate trigger kit with striker, striker safety plunger, and lightweight plunger spring. I've filled the rear cavity on the grip with acraglas gel and done a grip reduction on it, as well as forming an internal magazine ramp. It has Trijicon night sights installed, as well. I plan on doing some stippling on it this week but it looks like USPSA has a prescribed area of the frame in which stippling is allowed, so I'll have to forego any work to the area forward of the takedown switch like I had planned. I guess my question is, does all of this stuff look good to go, or do I need to borrow my dad's M&P? I'm not beyond that because I sold him the thing lol.

Sorry for the novel, guys, but I don't want to show up and be told that my gear's not up to snuff. Thanks in advance for any input. Still trying to learn my way around this circus.

As long as the gun's primary safety is in working order you are good to go. Stipple the whole frame, carve the slide up, and install a light to your heart's desire, it's good in open as long as the mag isn't over 171.25mm.

Right now there is a discussion on whether a non functional flashlight is legal in limited division as a frame weight. I'm not even going to start with that one.

It's a club match, they will find a division for you to play in, come shoot.

If you want to shoot in open division, then modify to your hearts desire. Just know that you'll be running against guys that are using dot sights on their pistols.

If you want to shoot in limited division, like most of us, the light will have to come off but the stippling and grip reduction is fine.

I have a 40 cal STI and all the gear you can borrow just bring your own ammo

Ok, I'm gonna pick up a SERPA holster and mag carrier this week at Stillwater Armory so I can shoot limited. I'll bring my .40 ammo with me, too. See you at the range.

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change.
If you can tell me where/how to get one before Saturday, that's what I'll do.

Edit: Looks like Amazon has a few. Is there a preferred model? I'm thinking the tek lok stuff should be good for 3-gun stuff when I would change my setup between stages.

Lots of good advice here (some off topic) but all good.

I think the best option would be just show up with what you have. If that puts you in Open division, so what. If its your first time, it will just let you see whats out there and what everyone uses before you spend a dime. you might hate it and want to gouge your eyes out when your done (not likely, though)

Second best option would be bring some .40 ammo and shoot with all of Feegee's gear. Wither way its a WIN, cause your shooting a match

H&H stocks most of the bladetech stuff I believe

I have a Blade tech drop offset holster for a Glock 17 that you can use on Saturday if you can't find one.

Thanks guys. I'm gonna grab a holster and mag carrier off of amazon tomorrow so it should be here Friday for the matches in OKC and Tulsa on Saturday and Sunday. If that falls through though, I'll show up with what I've got.

I'll throw the extra holster and a couple of mag pouches in the car if you need them.

Also every time I've bought a holster because "Amazon Prime can get it in two days and I'm a spoiled millenial who needs instant gratification" I've ended up regretting it.
