Since I'm obviously tinkering with my AR, what are your thoughts on back up irons? Important? Not needed? Offsets are the schizzle?
Haha it's 300 for both front and rear sights of you look at normal irons (not magpul) you are roughly going to spend 250. So it's not that bad. And as fragile I have been beating the crap outta mine for the past 3 months and they have been holding up very well. If they ever break I will be sure to inform everyone haha.TacticalK9 said:$300? holy elephant dung
I don't see a 45 degree offset on troys site. Do you just have regular sights mounted on the side of the gun?22+1 said:I am new to 3 gun but I like my troy flip up
di optic 45 off center BUIS.
Esp for the up close and close together targets, they are fast.
I like the ability for them to be completely out of the way and under my scope for the extra 100 bucks. Also they are the diamond head design and it is fast for quick acquisition. But he'll to each his own I have been tryin them and they work pretty well so far. Stag puts a lot of diamond head stuff on their guns we have them in the shop.Jesse Tischauser said:Dueck defense offsets are $200 though. Is the flip worth $200?
Where is the rear sight mounted?22+1 said:Yeah the straight sights are mounted on 45 off set short rails. These sights
are built like a tank. I really think you would tear up the hand guard before you could brake one of these sights.
So its up on the handguard too and not real close to your eye then?22+1 said:The di optic troy rear sight is on a small 45 slanted picatinny rail mount.
This is what I was getting at. I am certainly not going to try a co-witness during a match. And so far, I've only had one COF that offsets would have been nice, where I had long, one close, then long range targets. I figure I can try Sean's idea for 30 bucks, and if it doesn't work, fine. I'm not one to hang a bunch of stuff on my rifle unless it really earns it's keep.Jesse Tischauser said:Nobody runs backups in 3 gun. If your optic goes down there is no time remove it and go to back ups. Offsets are good for close range targets when your scope is zoomed up to its higher magnification but even offsets get used very rarely. They are definitely a luxury item more than a necessity on a rifle.
