STI Double Tap Championship (USPSA) / June 12-14, 2015

Yeah if this rain keeps up I am pretty sure we are going to be shooting the match on barges.

Double reverse weighted swinging stars should be fun too!

Yep looks to be a fun match! This was my first major match shot and it was great fun.

They're not bad. I'm pretty sure they used the same props in 09. Here's a video of some noob shooting the stage:

Those don't look like bear traps, looks like the stage with the window ports.

The triple bear trap and double star are the only features that have me worried. Everything else looks relatively normal.

I thought that's what you guys were talking about. I see the "bear traps" description now though. I've always called those clamshells. It should be a fun stage.

Yeah they look like clam shells or max traps but it's possible that they are laying flat and then the popper activates the 1st one, then the no shoot coming up activates the next one etc etc.

Double tap is always a fast match. I just wish I was going to get to shoot more than 1 match before going and switching to production. Oh well, see ya Saturday!

thats exactly how they work the target pops up first then the no shoot after a very short delay.

Looks like some folks have pulled out of the match (60% chance of rain on Sat and Sun).

Folks shooting on Friday may have some nice weather.

Also saw the Okie squad (Sq 14) shooting Friday has one opening if anyone is still interested.

I'm hoping the forecast improves for Sat/Sun shooters. Is the range surface still just dirt or have they added gravel in the last few years? I've got some hellacious memories of mudfest matches there that I would rather not repeat.

Yeah he put down some crushed brick/gravel type stuff. Works a lot better now but it does still pool up in places. It rained hard last year overnight Saturday but Sunday wasn't too bad overall.
