Practicing should include effort

I'm a OKCGC member. I'm in for this. I think this is a great idea for us to see what drills etc others are doing for training.

Members are allowed to bring guests.
although it would be funny if he doesn't get to come, since it was originally his idea!! hahahah
but seriously i am sure you could be someone's +1, just remember JP is my man and i am very jealous, so don't even think about it

a match isnt really an ideal place to learn new things, theres usually a lot going on.

I like Matt's idea had but, truthfully, it sounds like your talking about a mini-TDSA Advanced Competition Pistol class.

Mike, In your TDSA classes do you typically have some mock stages set up to run students through, or do you have them shoot a mini-match at the end of the class?

If anything happened, it would not be a class type situation, and it wouldnt be at all like a mini-tdsa class. It would be me going through typical drills that i do during a course of practice, and others could shoot along.

The second I do anything "class" like, youll hear a cash register sound, lol. My times too valuable. Besides, for multiple shooters, I couldnt come close to a TDSA AP1 class.

Burk,
AP1 does some timed pre-tests and post-tests, and we do use timers, but AP1 is not competition oriented; its handgun skill and technique oriented, which in a non-roundabout way, is VERY relevant to competitions. If that makes any sense.

Rumor has it that TDSA is possibly adding another AP1 to their calendar in October, so call them up and inquire!

I wasn't real clear, but my question was more about the Advanced Competition Pistol course than AP1

My idea would still put some cash in your pocket. I understand that your are a really great guy and are willing to donate some of your time, but i am also willing to pay what i normally pay for a match (if not a little more) for the fun and knowledge i may get from it. Also i can see where this could turn into something that one person could not handle on his own. If it gets blown out of proportion then what? If not then great!

I will be happy with whatever comes of this.

You'll have to limit it to like 10 or so.

That said........

We are not trying to screw you (well at least not financially), that is what we are looking for, more drill like atmosphere, but we would be will paying you for your time.

Guy's not to be a rainy day guy, But if Mike is a OKCGC member he can NOT earn and income teaching there. ( IIRC Kurt Miller is the Only member that can), The OKCGC is an NPO and by law the members can not earn a profit on the club grounds.

Now Im all for doing a practice session, in fact Ive done a few with several guys out there. So if you get a date set up let me know I'd love to come!!!
