A pistol by ATF definition, this is my PPS-43C. Fires 35 rounds of 7.62*25mm down a 10" barrel. Its nice to know you can intimidate old school and still be carry legal. I have not yet found a CCW holster to work with it yet, but still looking . . .

Crappy cellphone pics but since the 24 degree temps here this morning made me select it for the carry piece (even if Winter clothing causes a failure to expand I'm still punching a .45 caliber hole).

Yes, in that pic with the wallet that's a pocket holster. I do pocket carry it and can still draw effectively.

I'm brand new here as of today an thought I'd open up with a picture of my two favorites:

1) A CZ75 SP-01 Tactical. I replaced the night sights with a set of target sights (fiber optic red front and black, textured rear). I also changed the black rubber grips for some coco bolo grips and I changed out both the recoil spring and mainspring. Shoots like a dream.

2) A Ruger 22/45 Mark III Hunter. The optic is an UltraDot 30mm Red Dot. I replaced the grips with Hogue wrap-around finger groove grips. I removed the magazine safety release and added a Volquartsen accurizing kit (trigger, sear, hammer, springs). This one also shoots like a dream (and is only slightly less expensive to shoot than the CZ :D).

Looking forward to participating in the forums. I'm from Charleston, but currently living and working in Sumter, SC while my wife finishes up graduate school. Feel free to drop me a line anytime.

Best,
Matthew

Matthew,

Gotta love the Ruger Mk series pistols. My 22/45 came with the 5.5" Stainless bull barrel, not fluted or drilled for a scope/rail, so it was super heavy for most woods walking ventures, thats why I picked up the Tactical Solutions Pac Lite upper. That was before Ruger introduced the Mk III line that came drilled for the scope/rail setup.

Yeah. I love that CZ, but for just good fun plinking at the range, there's nothing better than a Ruger MK series (22/45 or Standard). I like the TacSol uppers and have thought about putting one on mine to reduce the weight. I just put a 16.5" TacSol barrel on my 10/22 along with a Hogue stock and it shoots amazingly well and is extremely light weight. How is the finish holding up on that anodized blue? Does it seem to be fairly resilient? Any effects from cleaning?

Matthew,

The anodized finish on my Pac Lite has been great. I do not use solvents to clean with because it can cause problems on anodized/nickle plated or Duracoat/painted finishes, stuff like Hopps #9, copper and lead removers are best left to all steel guns with traditional finishes. My ONLY cleaning/lubes are CLP Break Free, Rem Oil or Ballistol and a bit of Elbow Grease when needed.. LOL!
