I did that too.
Need to rig up a way to run spent primers thru a tube or something and do away with the chute and cup...

there is a vid on youtube where a guy did that. they run down to a coke bottle mounted under his bench. i will see if i can find it.

Easy fix for the Primer Catch Thingie:

Go to Lowes - buy one of these and some 1/2" clear tubing (both can be had under $5.00 total)

Take off primer catch plate and install above piece, attached tubing and run to bottle - BAM you are done. No more primers flying all over the place.

Hello, great for the amendment to the recovery of primer, it's really a problem on the 650. I'll add an interesting video, the comments are in French but pictures speak louder than words. Sorry for the gay music but this video is not mine  .

Great tip, I usually find the 380 brass AFTER I press a new primer into it, Doh!!

Wes
I use the shellplate for 40S&W on both the 550 and 650 to reload 9mm, 38super, and 40S&W. You must use the correct locator pins. A 380 case will pop out of the shellplate before a primer will seat.

...Only tips I have is for a 650 making the shell plate move smoother, I hate spilling powder  It involves clipping a coil from the detent ball under the shell plate and adding a needle trust bearing under the shell plate pivot bolt. The shell plate now moves smoothly and does not snap to the next position spilling powder everywhere. This is nothing new but sure makes a smoother running machine. Wes
This maybe the 650 mod to allow smoother operation of the shell plate that Wes is talking about. http://tinymicros.com/wiki/Dillon_XL_650_Modifications

The only mod my 550 has is a .45 case on top of the primer rod and my old college reading light clamped onto the bullet tray
