Colt Colt Picture Thread...

My Pachmayr Combat Special that started off as a MK IV Series 70 that I dropped off at Pachmayr Gunworks in December 1979 and picked up in August 1983, surrounded by a correct Colt 1911a1 and a CMP Arsenal Refinished Colt with Ithaca frame 1911a1.IMG_8354.jpeg

Here are some from the herd. Latest build was the highly polish CCO. Kind of happy with it. Used an old Officers ACP frame and a NOS Wiley Clapp Series 70 slide. Some of my favorites from these are the two tone XSE and .40 Defender.

Here are two customs from colt…I have some Colt wheel guns as well, an unfired SAA, a Special Police .22 from 1936, a Woodsman from 1951, Oh!, and a Colt 1911-A1 from 2016 with an Ace .22 conversion from 1960's. Many other 1911's as well. Thirteen in all at last count. The M1911 with the Elephant Ivories is a special order 100th anniversary I finally got in 2014. Ordered in late 2010. It has never been racked since it left the factory…likewise for the M1911-A1 jeweled and polished specimen.
Be well everyone.

Did you change the Trigger?
Mike, I did change the long trigger it came with. That thing had more wiggle than an nfl cheerleader. That's a colt trigger from a series70 repro I had around. Looking at the picture I see I also had installed a colt teardrop? thumb safety instead of the small nub style. Much better click on and off and works better for me.
Impossible to tell but I also swapped out the colt series80 fps and extractor for some proper pieces.

2004 1911 WMK. Beautiful bluing, best frame / slide/ barrel fitment I've ever owned with a Colt.
Beautiful 1911. I am just a super fan of the 1911, the Flat MSH, long trigger & wide spur hammer all just fit me best.
As a long time High Power shooter ( M1A ), I like my trigger finger to contact the trigger mid pad, & the Short trigger does not make that easy.

That thing had more wiggle than an nfl cheerleader.

Yep Mil spec triggers are like that, I installed aftermarket long adj. type triggers that needed fit & they are really nice.
