Epic advice!

The thing that helps me the most is to squad with shooters who are better than me and to watch what they do and talk to them about stage planning. For your first match, there's just gonna be too much to try and do all at once, but this game is all about stage planning, having a plan, and a backup plan when that one fails.

I try to use every second of the walkthrough if possible, and I video myself when I shoot to go back and learn from my mistakes.

There are a million nuances and tips and tricks to this game that you'll pick up with experience and time. I'm still learning myself, but for your first match just have fun and don't DQ!

Something that I had to learn the hard way. After you get a stage plan in mind, don't alter it at the last minute because you saw someone else do it differently on the run right before you. That always messes me up. If Cyrwus goes right before me and I see him game something and think "hey, that seemed to work for him".

HINT: It doesn't work for mortals
Brownie points for this weekend never hurts.
