I just received my 1st QTR IDPA Tactical Journal and it shows the OK state was March 4th.

Was there really a state championship IDPA match last weekend at USSA without one mention on this forum?

Ya. I shot in it. I didnt recognize anyone's name that attended the match other than people I knew from down in DFW.

I dont think any of them are members here.

ETA: I have the results in pdf format...how do I post them?

How weird is that? Are we not welcoming to IDPA shooters or are they not the forum types? I sure would have liked to shoot that match as I could use some points to get into Nationals. I think I will just sign up for Nationals and hope for a random draw slot. That would be interesting for Nationals to be my first ever IDPA match!

no, I kinda think its that assholes that make fun of IDPA make IDPA shooters less than willing to post up about the sport. Is there any truth to that, Eric, Stan, Garrett? others? Gotta think there has to be some truth to it.

Everybody makes fun of IDPA. Come on how can't you. That doesn't mean that we all wouldn't go shoot the match.

for comparison, its not like USPSA MD's (other than chad maybe), or other officials have gone overboard promoting that over the last 10 years, but look at all the self promotion the shooters do., grassroots wise.

I posted that I was shooting the match on my facebook page and took a rash of crap for it. I havent posted anything in my shooting log about my training the last month because its all been for IDPA.

There is a huge separation between the sports. Just a handful of people that shot the match shoot both sports. I think I saw maybe 10 jerseys out of the 140 people there.

Truthfully IDPA can be very frustrating to me. I was very apprehensive about how I shot the stages because of how easy it is to get penalized. I had a good time though and I'm going to Silver Dollar at DTR next week. I want to start participating in it more.

We all just make fun of the vests that are not actually worn in the real world for concealment, ever. The vests are very contradictory to the whole principal behind the organization IMHO.

I couldn't have said it better myself......

Glad the rain stopped for Saturday, it was miserable for those that shot on Friday.

Contradictory? you dont make any sense.

Ive worn a concealment vest, Tom Givens wears a concealment vest, the actions used to "clear" the vest in order to draw the firearm are very similar to a sport coat, jacket, coat, button down shirt, etc. Do you own any of those?

Do you even know that IDPA rules just tell you concealment has to be worn? They dont say you need to wear a vest.

Thats kind of a "gamer" iteration of the rules. You should dig that, Jesse.

You can even run a loose fitting t-shirt or sweat shirt for your concealment.

i would like to try a few IDPA matches for sure. I know Someone tried to get em going a few years back. Never shot one but I don't think you can play too many shooting games.

When I'm in a gunfight, I always retain my mags unless my gun is completely empty.

- IDPA

Don't get me wrong, I have shot several IDPA matches and enjoyed them. But given the choice between USPSA and IDPA, I choose USPSA.
