I've read most of Enemies: Foreign and Domestic, and the similarities seem too eerily similar: a week after a crowded shooting, the gov't puts a ban on all mag-fed repeating longarms greater in caliber than the .22lr. Anyone know what happens exactly a week from now?
Now, the "perp" in E:F&D is a patsy, and the real enemy is a power-hungry BATFE goon. This Holmes guy seems to be pretty messed up. But I agree, this seems like the Manchurian Candidate.
And I think the media is a cluster of misinformation. I've read earlier today that only 10-20 rounds were fired, and now they're saying that he shot over 50 people. How does that add up? (I know, ball ammo can penetrate, but still. The media makes the guy out like he just sprayed-and-prayed.) And I've heard that he had an AR-15, a "shotgun", and a Glock in .40 S&W. And I've read that there were two shooters. So what do they know?
I really feel like this incidence isn't a coincidence, especially when that 71 year-old defended a robbery two days ago, and with that NATO treaty looming in a week.
