Colorado shooting

Holy cow, what gets into these people's minds!? 14 dead so far including an infant and children and 36 injured. Sure hate for the folks in Aurora and hope they don't loose any more.

Colorado shooting

Fox this morning was saying it was gang related. Let's hold out till we get more facts.

At least 14 people have been killed and dozens wounded after a gunman opened fire inside a suburban Denver theater early today.

Cinemark is a Plano-based theater company with nearly 460 theaters in 39 states and several foreign countries.
Is Cinemark one of the theaters that has a no guns policy? (Are there any that do not have one of these stupid policies in place?)

Witnesses said that the man appeared at the front of the theater with a rifle, handgun and gas mask. Witnesses said that he then threw a canister that released some kind of gas, after which a hissing sound ensued. The gunman then opened fire on the crowd packed into the early morning screening of the film, according to people in the theater at the time.
An explosive device was also found inside the theater. Police are unsure of whether the device, which investigators are calling a bomb, was already in place or whether it was thrown into the crowd.

I just saw this on the morning news and at present there are 15 dead, Truly sad. I am surprised from what I saw the news idiots didn't mention the shooter carrying some type of assault weapon although the day aint over as they say. I don't know if the cinema policies were different would have helped in this situation mainly because of how this fool did it, However wishfully thinking maybe this will make them rethink their position.

With that said personally I hope they fry this moron. It's idiots like this that push our so called government closer to banning guns and hindering our freedoms.

I just heard the newsman say the magic words "spray them with bullets". Look for speeches banning "assault weapons" and "automatic" or "semi-automatic" weapons. I'd just about bet this will be tied into the arms control treaty talks too.

Yeah. Looks like that gun free zone thing Cinemark has going on worked out real well for them.

I frankly hope the victims sue the hell out of Cinemark over that. (can a preemptive suit be brought against Cinemark in light of this to force them to change policy?) They were denied any opportunity to defend themselves by Cinemark?s corporate policy, and as a result we have 12-14 dead, and over 50 "injured". Admittedly nothing could have been done about the panic injuries after the tear gas grenades (and where did he get those? you can't exactly buy them at your local gun store. Wonder if the ATF "lost them"), and if it?s the same that the police and military use it?s not fun at all. Something might have been doable about the GSW's.

Police found the shooter hiding in the parking lot, with a rifle and a handgun and one other unidentified weapon. That the police can't identify a weapon kind of scares me, because it makes me think they did ID it, and just don?t want to panic the public.

I am certain there are already pundits ramping up their anti gun speeches, with "remember the century 16 shooting" tagline. It is a tragedy that those people were killed, but it is a bigger tragedy that someone will try to profit off of the loss

What a disaster.

So, I'm going to the movies tonight in a group of 8-10, and I seriously doubt anything will happen, but the idea of being trapped in row seating with a mass shooter is pretty horrifying.

Honestly, I don't know if "more guns" is the solution, but I do know that I swapped out my front pocket .38 this morning for a belt carried Glock 36.

In the worst case scenario, holding my wife's hand and hoping this isn't the end is just an unacceptable course of action. I mean, could you imagine being in that situation, after all the gun schools, range time, and thought that goes into self defense, and you have chosen to leave it all at home? It is an unsettling sort of irony to say the least.

There's so many rumors going around right now from the baby is dead to the baby was released from the hospital, he had an ak-47 style weapon a shotgun and two handguns, his apartment was booby trapped, his mom said "you have the right person" when reporters called her to tell her the news (what a way to find out...I'm going to bet she was meaning that she is his mother, they were speaking to the right person) and what not.
I can say that I don't know how effective I would have been in that situation. I haven't trained to fire defensively when I'm in whatever gas he released, and I think my first priority would be to get down and look for a way to get my kids out. That doesn't mean I wouldn't want my weapon at hand, just that I don't know how useful I'd be.

It sure is a tragedy. He was supposed to have all sorts of protective gear on, bullet proof vest, gas mask, etc, I have to wonder if he chose that theater due to their no guns policy, since people would be less likely to return fire.

Tis a sad day :(

In regards to the "AK-47" style weapon:

CNN just reported that the guy had an AR-15, 12 guage shotgun, and 2 pistols. He also had a mag that would hold 100 rounds of ammo...

But they ended the report by saying "All of the guns were purchased in the last 6 months, legally"

The handguns were supposedly .40s, at least one was used.

Waiting periods and purchase limits to come?

I do feel badly for all of the victims and their families, but who goes to a midnight show like this with children 3 months to 6 years old? C'mon parents, give your brain half a chance!!!

(Excepting all RESPONSIBLE parents, of course)

I took a break from the coverage for most of the afternoon and evening so I'm just catching up. They've been describing this guy on TV. A grad student until about a month ago (aka. smart), seemingly methodical, buys some guns, gets some tear gas (where does a grad student get tear gas canisters) shoots up the theater, then calmly hangs out by his car to be arrested. He cooperates when arrested and tells the popo about the bombs in his apartment. He decides to clam up later and stop cooperating. The bombs have been described as sophisticated. Building sophisticated booby traps seems an odd skill set for a medical grad student.

What has me most intrigued, is that there are reports of him sitting in the front row in the movie, and taking a phone call before going out the exit, only to return a few minutes later to commit multiple murder. Can anyone spell manchurian candidate?

I've read most of Enemies: Foreign and Domestic, and the similarities seem too eerily similar: a week after a crowded shooting, the gov't puts a ban on all mag-fed repeating longarms greater in caliber than the .22lr. Anyone know what happens exactly a week from now?

Now, the "perp" in E:F&D is a patsy, and the real enemy is a power-hungry BATFE goon. This Holmes guy seems to be pretty messed up. But I agree, this seems like the Manchurian Candidate.

And I think the media is a cluster of misinformation. I've read earlier today that only 10-20 rounds were fired, and now they're saying that he shot over 50 people. How does that add up? (I know, ball ammo can penetrate, but still. The media makes the guy out like he just sprayed-and-prayed.) And I've heard that he had an AR-15, a "shotgun", and a Glock in .40 S&W. And I've read that there were two shooters. So what do they know?

I really feel like this incidence isn't a coincidence, especially when that 71 year-old defended a robbery two days ago, and with that NATO treaty looming in a week.

There is certainly a lot about this that is a little fishy, at least to me. I'm not sure I buy into a false flag just yet, although I don't think I can completely discount it either. The government has been facilitating gun deals to terrorist organizations, so I don't know where they draw the line these days.

I can make no claims as to the credibility of this source, but it does make some interesting reading.
Colorado Batman shooting shows obvious signs of being staged

The head of the US Justice Dept has already been held in contempt of congress with covering up much worse tragic events recently, but they do not hit as close to home with the American people. The Justice Dept AG has admitted before Congress of knowingly selling guns to known straw purchasers then allowing them to be taken across the border untracked. Even though the media has largely ignored it, these actions resulted in the deaths of hundreds if not thousands of Mexicans and a border agent with the sole purpose of these deaths and violence used as propaganda for gun control in this country.

So really, how much harder is it to believe this is a false flag prior to the UN Small Arms Treaty? Certainly not to detract from this tragedy, but it is made to order gun control fodder and hits close to home for each one of us just DAYS before the UN Treaty details are announced. It is no longer paranoia to be suspicious, our government leaders have earned it by their own admission, and I would submit that the people who should be wearing the tin foil hats are the ones that no longer question.

Added note: Regardless of what may have actually happened here, the mere possibility that this was a false flag, based on recent events, should not strike any thinking person as absurd.

hit the link above and read some.....it certainly does fit in with an FBI / BATFE bungle like the "fast and furious" weapons transfer scheme, where they kill innocent people just to manipulate the media:

Holmes was clearly provided with exotic gear
Continuing from CBS:

"He said pictures from inside the apartment are fairly disturbing and the devices look to be sophisticated, adding the booby-traps were 'something I've never seen.' One rifle, two handguns, a knife, a bullet proof vest, a ballistic helmet, a gas device, a gas mask, military SWAT clothing and unidentified explosives were also found in Holmes' car, a law enforcement source told CBS News. Oates said Holmes wore a gas mask, a ballistic helmet and vest as well as leg, groin and throat protectors during the shooting."

What the hell is going on here in the "USSA"?

I live way up here in the Socialist Republic of Moscowchusetts, but things are getting WAY out of control! They restrict us pretty good, but What happens when this kind of stuff hapens here? I worry that the original state of what has become America will become even worse from alll of this!
