    CMP 1911 Sales

Rather frustrating. Not just secretive but hundreds of hoops. Starting to think it’s not worth the hassle for a bit of history.

    CMP 1911 Sales

Do you know if they send out a notice or posting on their website stating when they are out of guns for this round of sales? I sent an entry back in October of 2018 and haven't heard anything other than the statement on their website that states to not send in any more requests.

Does anyone know if the CMP 1911 sales that were to start October 2018 are still going on?

    Thanks for the warm welcome

Hello Blackbeard, I'm a bit of an antique but quite new to handguns. I'm looking forward to learning from the 1911 community about the famous 1911 as well as other firearm information. Thanks again, Tom

Swap Meet (3/23/13) + any/all future Swap Meets!

Haven't been here for a while. I am still interested in us putting together another "swap meet" Shirley there are enough of us with "stuff" to get rid of that we could put together a really good one.

    Hodgedon Longshot or AA#7

Hey guys, I just bought a .460 Rowland conversion kit for my .45 Colt along with 100 StarLine brass for it. However I have found out the best and recommended powder is Hodgedon Longshot but AA#7 will surfice. Does anyone have any of the either I could buy or trade for? I just need enough to...

Mailing bullets, errrr projectiles, errrrrr copper and lead

They hunt them on the moors, mainly to keep the herds thinned out. Here are the rules: first you have to go to a rifle range and PROVE you can handle your rifle safely and hit your target. Then you enter a lottery for a "raindeer" ticket. If you are lucky enough to get a ticket, Apply for a...

Mailing bullets, errrr projectiles, errrrrr copper and lead

Apparently there is a bullet shortage in Iceland. My friend Johann, whom I just visited in June, cannot get .243 Winchester bullets in any weight or configuration. He reloads for himself and friends for the upcoming raindeer season. He checked the Mid South web site and ordered the bullets he...

    Lone Survivor

Went to see it (in a sold out theater) with g/f....we gave it FOUR thumbs up. Very powerful and intense. Did not see any popcorn thrown. The stunts were really really well done.

    Show us your revolvers

Last year I came across a Colt Detective Special for sale, nickle plated. Even though the plating was badly worn from being holstered, laying around and neglect, it was nice and tight and I could not see that it had been shot much. I struck a deal with the guy, took it to the range and it shot...

SCDNR ranges closed due to federal shutdown

As per my post on "range time" we went to the Twin Ponds Rifle Range yesterday, gate locked, we just walked to the range and shot for an hour and a half. However, as we were leave, here comes a DNR officer, we didn't stick around. BTW, there was no notice on the gate.

    Range time

Went to Twin Ponds Rifle Range in Awendaw this morning. Gate locked. No sign, no nothing. Another shooter was there, had driven all the way from N. Charleston, so we all went in to shoot. Still no signs posted anywhere. Shot for about an hour and a half, more shooters showed up, all...

Anyone go to the gun show in Ladson today?

I went on Sunday, good crowd, but not crowded. I did not see any great deals. I bought a box of 1000 small pistol primers, $35.00. That is very high. Powder was $24.00 a pound and I passed on it, have enough for a while and will order 'on-line'. I think gun dealers are still attempting to...
