How about a Colt Police Positive Special 6" barrel in 32-20? Man. 1919. Allegedly, original holster. Good condition. A good shooting pistol.

Dave

.32 Police Positive still available; told my friend yesterday to consign it for auction but it hasn't gone yet.

Ever watch the quarterly firearms auctions at Meares Auctions in Pelzer? The last one was a week from yesterday; the "jewel in the crown" was a blued 4 inch Python (as I recall it was a late 60s model); it went for $1800.

In the early 2000s I remember going by White Jones Hardware in Anderson, they had two six inch blued Pythons in the used gun case, each priced at $375. I sure wish I'd have bought them BOTH.

If you run across a solid "shooter" grade six inch blued Python, I'm still looking. Hey, I'd be glad to pay the $375. That ship has LONG sailed!

I did see that auction, I feel that was a little high but what do I know

You don't see many of those guns any more but they are out there just keeping looking you never know.

Good luck

TTT

I have a Detective special, old one with the exposed ejector rod, nice with one spot of holster wear.

Also have a 100% Colt Agent (38), not a scratch with the original Colt instruction book.

Make an offer if interested

I have two Colt Detective Specials, both first generation, long un-enclosed ejector rod; one is blued, about 95%, faint cylinder advancement mark, manufacture 1971; second is nickel (I had the Colt factory renickel it; the reason I had it renickeled was it had been holstered and nickel was badly worned; Colt not only did a beautiful job of renickeling it; they completely went through the gun) 100%, I have the renickel certificate, manufacture 1962. If you know Colts, you know their worth; make me an offer I can't refuse. I will only sell them as a pair. Let me know if you are interested. Tom

My Blue Book a couple years old says 100% = $850, 95% = $550, 90% = $300. Plastic grips 1947-54, wood grips 1955-65, wrap around wood grips 1965-72.
