So,......these are FREE?
Just for info, my thread stated that I was getting them ready for a gun show. But they are for sale. I'm still a little gun shy from Facebook I guess. I'll start posting prices.

$45+shipping. My website is CrossBarSLeather.com
You need to either raise your price or your quality. $45 for some thing hand made is a joke. Unless you can make, package and ship a holster in 30 minutes?

First of all it very high quality leather. I've been building that design for over twenty years. I started doing this because the industry is using junk leather. I only use US tanned US cow leather. I also guarantee my work. I don't have a lot of overhead so I can keep my price down. Expensive doesn't mean good quality. Please don't judge it by the price, when you haven't seen it.

I was not judging your product. I was actually doing the opposite and trying to encourage you to charge more for a quality product.

A few years ago I got into making kydex holsters because I could not find what I was looking for and leather just didn't work for me. As I got into the trade farther I saw guys selling $80-$120 kydex and other guys selling $35 kydex. Many guys had the attitude that you do of overhead or how fast you can produce something instead of what the market will bear or what you're time and materials are actually worth. I only make custom kydex now for guys that can not find a commercial option that way I can explain to them the process and time involved to make their holster.

Believe it or not, but I have raised my price, just a few years ago. I've sold hundreds of holsters local and know what the market here will handle. It's more of a hobby for me as I'm a retired LE Officer and and disabled vet. I to have mad kydex and I know what the product cost. I just want people to have a quality product at a reasonable price. I was a Firearms instructor for over 25 years and I did test and evaluation for my department for equipment. I'm very critical of what I use. I don't put my expensive 1911's in junk. Right now my overhead allows me to change this price. If leather goes up, I'll adjust.

Meh.........
The holster industry as a whole is not using junk leather. You might be careful how you word comments pertaining to the industry. However, there are some holster makers that are using substandard, low quality, imported leather. Many of the top craftsman in the leather industry are using horse hide as it is a superior product to cow leather.

Horse hide is a lot less expensive to purchase. I get fliers on it all the time. I must disagree on your comment that it is superior, sorry. I purchase only top grade cow hide and a thicker hide at that. I use a lot of Bridal tan as the fibers are really tight. I have used and own holsters from the major part of the industry, I've seen the change in quality. A lot of them have gone south of the border, their quality has dropped.

I'm guessing you are speaking of the holster makers that sell their products at Bass Pro Shops and eBay. I'm not talking about that cheap ass junk.

Take a look at Del Fatti, Exodous, Milt Sparks they do produce cowhide holsters. Many offer models in horsehide as it is more resistant to sweat saturation. This is the reason for horsehide's use, not because it is cheaper to buy, you make care to look into this. And you'll find any of three above having product made in Mexico.

Take a look at Del Fatti, Exodous, Milt Sparks..... you sir are clearly mistaken. Many offer models in horsehide as it is more resistant to sweat saturation. And you'll find any of three above having product made in Mexico.
Listen, I know there are good ones out there. Im not going to continue this. Let's just agree to disagree. This whole conversation started as a cost verses quality. I stated my opinion and you have yours, no worries. If you don't want to try my product, fine. But let's just end this. It's getting kind of ridiculous.

It's not ridiculous, it's about providing factual, correct information. You stating that holster industry uses substandard, Mexican product is a slap in the face to many makers. And I will give you the do respect and not discuss whether not I want to try your product in the quality of it.

Galco has a video out about their leather selection process. They said they are now the nation largest consumer of top quality leather as shoe and boot makers have outsource production to Asia. They said they have a problem with the leather suppliers providing enough of the top quality leather of the grade they need because they can not get rid of the lower grades that used to be used for shoes, boot, luggage, and sporting goods.

I'm aware of that Galco make excellent products and the order from the same place I do. I order a thicker leather tho. Just for info, I wasn't saying all the industry is bad. Just some of the have outsourced now. I'm sorry this has been blown out of proportion. I have Galco holsters also, that I bought before making my own.

Here's my preliminary review of Don's "Slider" holster. I'll post pics as soon as I get a chance.

Don's holster is very well made overall. The leather is better than anything that DeSantis offers and pretty much equivalent to Galco's. I own both Galco and DeSantis holsters so I can easily compare them. Don's leather is roughly 30% thicker than the DeSantis leather and equal to the Galco leather. Galco does have some additional stitching around the belt openings but I'm not sure how much that's worth in longevity. The embossed "basket weave " pattern on my holster is good looking even though it's not a functional feature. I've always wondered why someone would want a "fancy" concealed weapon holster. They're supposed to be concealed, not displayed, right? I'll post some pictures in a day or two for those that would like to see the finished product . In the meantime, I'd say that Don's holsters are a bargain.
