Thanks! Seems to be going great. I return to see my favorite person in the world right now, my surgeon, tomorrow. Hope to be getting a good report!
Getting ready for deer hunting, had to make some accommodations, but easy enough. (Ground blind, small heater)
Keep shooting!

I had a great surgeon, had a good sense of humor, when I went back 2 months after surgery to see if he would release me to go back to work light duty, nurse thought it was to early but my surgeon quickly told her he ain't stupid, if he does something that hurts I imagine he will stop, so back to work I went

Mine too! I'm looking forward to tomorrow. I feel great, as long as I don't aggravate any of my chest muscles by turning too far, or reaching across my chest. Wouldn't do too well with a cross draw holster right now!

Have thought about 300 blackout but I would probably wind up sticking a mag with 556 in it, buddy of mine has one and absolutely loves it, a pcc in 45acp sounds like fun, those fat little boolets make me smile
Take a look at a AR7.62x39. Rounds are the same and when things settle down the price of ammo should go back to close to $200 per 1k and you will never have the problem of a 762x39 chambering in a 556. The problems with the AR762x39 that were there 6+ years ago have been fixed, they work as well as any other caliber, now. 1635969997835.gif

I truly think 300blk is going to be my next one and I want a suppressor, probably as an SBR
Update:
Did you do the 300blk thing?

My vote is for AR7.62x39, same ammo as your AK. Keep it in the family IYKWIM.
I never liked the AK's very harsh action and heavy, but you put that same round in the AR frame and it seems to be much smoother. 1659347297977.gif

I've given passing thought to a ar 7.62x39 upper for my ar too. Are they worth it? I have a small batch of the ammo as we have an ak in the house, but I do not like the way the things kick me in the cheek. LOL

I love the way those Marlins look, I got my boys each one in 30-30, one is older model, other one fairly new with pic rail on top for scope or dot, pre Ruger taking over of course, not sure if Ruger has even released anything other than the 45-70, action works good in the newer one, I've read complaints about the newer ones but this one seems fine, older one has old scope on it, good fall project getting decent optics on both and sighting them in

Don't know if this counts for a substitute for AR but I love older pump shotguns, Ithaca 37, Wingmasters etc. picked up a pristine Winchester 1200 with extra barrel and sling off Gunbroker couple weeks ago, made me happy!

I like all of the lever guns! That 45-70 is a Henry Steel. I also have Henry's in .357, and .45 colt. I have the Marlin and Winchester in 30-30, and a couple of Henry's in .22 & .22WMR They're all shooters.
Love marlin 30-30's the older the better.

I love Ithaca 37's still have on older one in 16ga, It had the barrel shortened to 19" before I bought it. It does duty as one of the house guns, loaded with buckshot.

The Ithaca's are great, love the pink bead front sight, Winchester model 12 is next on my shotgun wish list, they have gotten pretty pricey
