Going to be checking out a Combat Precision Custom Commander later today. The photos look good, the price seems OK. Part of me is hoping it has some off putting flaw, the other parts are saying BUY IT

no direct proof that Combat Precision built it, so i bought it as a 70's serial number Combat Commander and priced accordingly. it has chain link front strap, EB chain link magwell, Kart bushing, and a VOA barrel. locks up tight, no rattles, racks smoothly, the small parts are well blended. Colt says it's a 1977 Combat Commander. and it has Heinie sights, ball cut, and carry bevel on the slide

If you have questions about it take some pics and contact Chris on Facebook. He is pretty quick to respond through messenger if you have questions.

thanks, but i don't do facebook. i paid what i thought it was worth, not by who may or may not have built. the pistol was supposedly built in 2002. it's nice and tight and a good example of a Combat Commander

too tight in the slide, just need to take a .001 off and it should be good to go

What did you use to measure the ID of the slide?

I'm looking for a good inside micrometer.

for reloading i use a cabellas digital, for other stuff where i'm looking for accuracy i have a 6" Mitutoyo and an 8" Spi, both dial. the Mitutoyo is my go to

Calipers usually are not the best approach to measuring the ID of a round hole.

i should have said, an RCH, i'll chuck the tool up, run it for a few seconds over 1000 grit emory paper, test fit, continue until it does fit snugly. please, oh please forgive me for not reaching your exacting standards. and adios amigo

Meh....

Sorry I asked questions and tried to understand your process. Don't post exacting numbers if that is not what you really mean. There are many ways to fit a bushing. Some do it all on a lathe other do it in drill chuck with a file and finish with lapping compound. I was just interested in your method and tools.
