I didn't ever pattern my shotgun to see where my pellets group up close, and knocked over both No Shoots on Stage 8, my last stage. I took out the intended targets, but I blew the elephant dung out of those No Shoots while doing it.
The other mistake was buying 3" Magnum buckshot and high velocity slugs. I bought them, a lot of them, without actually examining the package. I just read "00 Buckshot" and "Rifled Slug", nothing else. That was retarded.
The slugs actually didn't really cause me any trouble, but my recovery time would have been a bit faster with regular 2-3/4" slug shells. The buckshot, on the other hand, was a nightmare. I used it on the steel on Stage 3, because I had to save what little 9-pellet 2-3/4" buckshot I did have for the four paper targets. The 3" buckshot was pretty violent, and made transitioning very time-consuming because there was a LOT of up and down movement. Weak-hand loading it also threw me off, too.
