I've decided to start preparing for my move to limited. I needed the most accurate, reliable, and comfortable gun on the market so I opted for a Hi-Point JHP 45. I bought it at a local gun store for $99.00 after tax. After polishing the slide (for the obvious weight reduction benefits), and created a custom kydex holster.

Clearly, I didn't pick this for the specific purpose of going into the limited division. I polished it to practice my skills for a more expensive firearm in the future. I made the holster for shits and giggles. But now I'm considering lightening the slide, maybe mounting a red dot, stippling, fitting some type of magazine well, etc. It would be a fun project to make the first limited or open hi point.

Hey Taymoor you gonna bring the pipe you been hittin' with ya next time you come to shoot? I'm thinkin' we need to check that to see what those Stillwater boys are cooking up is good for you

Might be careful trying to lighten anything on that slide looks like pot metal to me and well yeah it would probably come apart if you did any cutting. Later,

I only have one mag for now. But I saw a mod online to make 1911 mags work in this *****. Some hi cap ones and I'll run limited 10 with Feegee.

Need yo cut down the front of the holster. That beast is screaming for some sub 1sec draws.

Excellent idea. I would have had an expert do it, but I couldn't justify a custom holster set costing as much as a gun :O . Anyways, I'll try that and post pics. Maybe that will fix the fact that my holster bends up and snags if I go too fast. I feel like I need to tie it to my leg like Matt Dillon.

I can't believe that thing is only a single stack. That thing is bigger than a house only a single stack mag.
