When I was younger I purchased a HiPoint JCP in .40 SW with the idea of using it as a knock-around trunk or camping gun and matching it with a carbine. I've since upgraded to a higher quality sidearm and am looking to thin out the herd in the safe a bit.
This is the model, MSRP $199: http://www.hi-pointfirearms.com/handgun ... _40sw.html
It has <100 rounds through it. I have 4xfactory magazines ($10 each) and a Fobus paddle holster (~$25) to go with it. Like all HiPoints it comes with a life-time warranty. Feeding with FMJ was ok; with JHP ammunition I found it to be reliable with 7 or fewer rounds in the magazine. Due to the weight, recoil was actually pretty decent and it shoots fairly well other than the feeding issues with JHP in topped off mags, which seems to be common with this particular handgun model.
I'd like to get $170 cash for the whole lot: pistol, spare mags, and holster. I'd also be interested in trading towards a S&W Model 10 in .38 sp, an FR7/8 rifle, or maybe an AR lower. I'd like to sell but am not super hungry so I'm willing to negotiate or wheel & deal if you want to make a counter-offer.
Due to the nature of this particular sale*, seller must show either (A) SC driver's license or military PCS orders showing a SC assignment to verify residency and (B) some sort of proof of background (CWP, C&R FFL 03, military ID, teaching credentials, LEO credentials, etc... open to more ideas that basically demonstrate you're legit). If such cannot be shown then transfer will occur via an FFL with NICS check; I'll split the cost for the FFL transfer 50/50 with you up to $25 on my side.
Willing to meet or transfer in Columbia or Sumter areas. Pictures available upon request, but frankly, one tupperware HiPoint looks pretty much the same as any other...
*HiPoints are one of the top 10 firearms seized by LE in crimes... Hence the extra precautions here...
