I posted a WTB on AL and got one for cheap. Not even fired through, so I'm okay for now.

Now on how to deal with my "broken" barrel.

When I disassembled a PSA carbine, and went to reassemble after duracoat, the index pin on the barrel was broken off. Is it junk?

I was reading on ar15.com that the pin is soft and can be removed by drilling it out starting with a small bit and moving up. Others said they welded a small bolt to the pin to turn out. Others say they sent theirs to ADCO Firearms to have them replace them. I didn't realize that pin could break until you mentioned it. They say a little grease on the front of the barrel flange the nut contacts will prevent this problem. I'll remember that when I put my 6.5 barrel in.

I will get with ADCO and see what it will cost. It's a basic barrel, nothing special, so not sure if it's even worth the hassle.

A friend referred me to this site Red X Arms. They have a stainless 16" M4 barrel for $130.

Lots of fancy fluted barrels as well, at prices lower than I would expect. They have a fluted SS .300 BLK upper for $390. Tiger, they have a bunch of .308 AR stuff for you too.
