So i've looked almost everywhere and can't find one in stock. Anyone have a secret source they'd like to share? Also, is there anywhere I could buy one semi-race ready? You know, with the basics already taken care of.

...

H&H in OKC has some but they seem to be in a pretty basic config... But I definitely saw some there this week.

I should be more specific. Looking for the M2 Comfort Tech 21" bbl and preferably able to be bought online. No sales tax makes me happy!

21" Benellis are a very rare breed right now. Maybe contact Benelli direct and see if you can order one through them. Good luck on your search.

Rumor has it that the next shipment of 21's are coming from Italy in the next 1-4 weeks. Check with these guys...

The day before I bought my Mossberg, I went back to the Bass Pro gun counter and inquired about an M2.

Somehow I knew better, but in case you're curious, they're beyond unhelpful.

Would this be a suitable replacement? http://www.joessportinggoods.com/65035011032.html

I could just chop the barrel down to 21". I'm gonna drop cash on making it race ready anyway and all i'm really buying in a M2 is the operating system anyway...right?

thats overpriced for a M2 american.
I know of a M2 21" in camo at a store in the SE, if you can go that route. PM me if you want info.

Don't be lured in by the M2 American! It's basically a brand new M1 for $850. Cutting and rethreading the barrel will cost you over $100 because you can't rethread with M2 chokes so you gotta but new there too. You could run an M2 American until you can find a 21" w/comfortech. Just don't pay more than $850 for one.

If I remember correctly, the M2 barrel also has a lengthened forcing cone compared to the M1

You are correct but the forcing cone lengthening compared to an M2 is minimal compared to what an after maket gun smith like Briley will do. The M2 also has the crip choke system which are longer which reportedly effects/deforms the shot on the outside less. Kinda like what a lengthened forcing cone does.
