What did you buy yourself today (Photo Thread)...

Full of envy that everyone is buying. Damn furlough pretty ruined any buying I had planned the rest of the year. At least its over for now. But, lucky me, my son-in-law found a dozen extra 30rd mags in his footlocker and they went in the mail to me today.
Of course, now they are talking about another government shutdown in a few weeks, but that is fodder for another thread.

Bought the last one they had in stock... can not wait till it comes in!

Stopped in a local fun shop today looking for .30-06 Federal Gold Medal Match. He didn't have any in stock, but offered to order me some for $28.99/box!!!!! The going rate I have found for this stuff is around $40. Should come in, in about a week.

Slidewayz, that Rainier Urban Carbine is sick! I really thought about getting one of the rails that comes on it for my back up AR...I have a Samson/Rainier Evo 12" and a Rainier Match barrel on one of my rifles and it's super accurate.

Anyhow...what I bought today. Ruger Mini-14. It's my first Ruger product and I'm impressed. It's the 581- series, not the latest one out, but it's brand new.

Beautiful kukri. Always liked those as a camping utilitool.

I lucked out pretty seriously. I had won a Mosin M91/30 stock on ebay to cut down for one of my Type 53 carbines (as the original stocks sucked, and M44 stocks are hen's teeth).

Not only was it in much better shape than expected, it was more period correct for my own M91/30 - so I swapped them and now will cut down the not-as-nice post-war stock.

Also won an Arisaka Type 99 action and barrel, but it's going on gunbroker. Too much work to make it a rifle again for all the other stuff on my plate right now.

Nice stuff all 'round. That Mini looks like it has a thicker barrel than the one I bought my son many years ago. That AR is sweet too and the Nagant stock just reminds me I still have some work to do on mine. Thanks for sharing. :)

This is all I was able to walk away with from the gun show last weekend

I've got a few AR parts on order so hopefully I'll something that goes bang to post soon. 8-)

Thanks man, I have heard nothing but great reviews about there guns and a lot of people comparing it to the likes and quality of Daniel Defense and BCM. I train in Bowman a lot at Threat Management Group so I will be sure to give this rifle a proper shakedown and range report.

I finally caved and ordered an Osprey 416 piston kit. I'm gonna build a 14.5" flat top upper with it and play with some heavy bullets. I'm looking forward to less of a mess to clean up after a range trip too.

Grabbed some more 42 round Steyr AUG mags on sale for $19.99.

No pic's since nothing is here yet.

Shooting suppressed in conjunction with a WAR upper receiver by Innovative Arms and a chrome BCG, means after a range trip, I can just wipe the bolt down. No caked on carbon in a direct impingement gun.

I bought 200 of these:

and a few various cans of this:

I'm working on a camo paint job for my solid black .22 rifle. Will post a pic-by-pic with the results.

SO I promised pics.

Two Type-53 Mosin Nagants:

With horrible bad no-good stocks. My Tula M91/30 stock alongside, for comparison:

I'll be cutting the M91 stock down to fit one Type-53, as I picked up a nicer-and-more-accurate-stock than mine recently.

Nifty little Rossi M86 that I've been working on:

Looked like a cat died inside the clockwork when I got it. After two weeks in mineral spirits, it's looking decent. Lots of finishing work to do on this one.

Arisaka late Type 99, for sale if anyone wants a project:

Last, but definitely not least: New shield!

Now just need TruGlo to release the shield-specific TFO sights.

I got my lowers in.

One Palmetto State Armory
One Palmetto State Defense
One Working Mans Armory

I thought it would be cool to build a rifle using each of the in state manufacturers. If any one knows another company in the state making lowers let me know and I'll add them to the list. Now I have to figure out what I want to do with each one because they can't all be the same.

Picked up a Glock 34 from East Coast Gun Shop yesterday and took it to Boggy Head today. I'm a happy camper to say the least
Pictures to follow as soon as possible.

Swamp Fox, that's a great idea! Do one in FDE, one in black, and another in OD furniture. I'm partial to the ACS, ACS-L, and STR stocks due to the cheek rest, so if I was doing the same project they'd each get one respectively.

I bought some 55gr .223 FMJs from Xtreme Bullets. They were $49.99 SHIPPED and they actually only billed my CC for $47.95 for some reason....anyhow, I bought 500 just to see how they were. Very clean jacket; nicer than the Hornady's I bought a while back. The cannelure is interesting. It's plainly there, but not nearly as deep or severe as most cannelures are that I've seen on this type of bullet. Hopefully the picture I am attaching gets big enough to see.

Anyways, due to the price, free shipping, and quality of the bullet...I will be buying more soon.
