I used to run wet with CLP. I didn't have failures, I just hated the lube not staying where it should. Lube would eventually run out as guns sat in the safe. Now I use Froglube. I treat every surface with Froglube paste, let it cool, and then wipe it down. I'll brush a bit on the cam pin, a very tiny amount on the lugs and tail and bearing surfaces of the bolt, and then brush some on the bearing surfaces of the carrier (rails?). The only failure in a firearm that I've had since switching to Froglube and several thousands of rounds ago was an odd misfeed in my shotgun in last month's shotgun match at Jesse's and that wasn't a failure due to lube I don't think. You might give it a try. I really, really like the stuff. You can see it seep out of the pores of the metal as it heats up. Cleanup is a breeze, too, with just a wipe down of parts.
