Wal mart is also within 5 miles of the house and I pass one every day during the week. PSA is NOT near the house! Not saying that I wouldn't like it if it was!
I guess WM is what you could call an ammo convenience store. You can beat their prices if you try, but you can't beat their convenience. BTW, do they limit the hours you can buy ammo, or can you buy it 24-7?

True... And I don't know I guess if you could get someone to come to sporting goods at 2am you could buy they would just have to pay for it up front.

They will not sell it 24/7. I think the cut off is 10pm-7am. Or maybe it was 7pm to 10am. I cant remember exactly what the hours are but they have some dumb rules regarding the sale of their guns and ammo.

That being said I still shop there because I'm not a millionaire. I'd love to see the local guys at least try to be competitive with their prices. I would spend a buck or two more to support the local guy but they are marking ammo up $5-10 more than walmart. Now they sell AR's for a reasonable price too. Imagine a gun shop that did a little mark up to make profit but didn't throw on another $400 because a democrat might be re-elected a month from now. If these guys quit being greedy and playing off of a fear something that might not even happen they might see an increase in business.

Walmart ar's are cheaper than any gun shop. They were 1050$ for colt 6920's, flyer I got last week said 1089$. The only place I was that came close was cheaper than dirt had them for 990$ plus 7$ shipping.

Plus whatever the FFL transfer cost. But yes if wal mart really got into gun sales they could put most smaller gun shops out of business

Bought some .22 ammo at Goose Creek WalMart and didn't see a limit on ammo sign. Spotty inventory.

I live right by the goose creek Walmart...pretty stocked up for the most part...the Walmart in Walterboro almost always has federal 9mm 100/$20...I usually stock up when I go see family

More Walmart lunacy and of a much higher degree:

According to local news reports the agreement says Walmart must limit sales of firearms to rifles and shotguns used only for hunting or target practice. No ?tactical guns? or ?assault weapons? with its related ammunition are to be sold

http://www.humanevents.com/2012/10/14/south-bend-pols-break-state-law-to-curtail-gun-rights/

So you can't do target practice with an AK-47? As I have stated before it's only an assault weapon if you use it as an assault weapon. So does that mean Walmart will have to quit selling hammers? I'm sure hammers have been used as assault weapons.

I have an assault mace, perfect for home defense. We aren't allowed to use firearms for home defense here in Dodge City. Then again, it would be more humane to use the firearms.

i almost hate to revive old threads...but i just cried reading these prices from just 6months ago....

on another note...the Walmart by Tangers had some Tula 7.62x39 $5.17/box of 20...
