I shoot Cowboy Action about 4-5 times a year. There are three clubs in the area and one has a complete cowboy town setup. Good people. Some of the best shooters in the state attend the matches. I had a lever-action rifle (or two), the six-shooters, and only needed a "cowboy" shotgun to shoot. I find that cowboy matches tend to keep me from getting burned out. Trying to load two quickly (two or more times on a stage) in a replica 1897 pump is always fun. Shooting a side-by-side coach gun with wood stock and pulling both triggers at the same time going too fast will leave a reminder bruise. Ask me how I know.
