Guess we need to start a new list thread since this one has gone WAY off balance.
Yes - Sorry about my participation in the derailment. Maybe the mods could make a your original post a sticky where we could list the wall of shame.

That goes for me also! Sorry everybody!

Regal Columbiana Grande 14 -- Legal (and have had armed muggings inside)

According to the law the sign is legal but not posted to requirements. The signs if I recall are posted about 10 ft off the ground.

Both Sherwin Williams near my house have posted signs. I think they are compliant, but they are on a clear background, so I am not sure if that is legal.

I think your right.

I KNOW THIS IS LATE AND I AM BEHIND, NOT SAYING ONE WAY OR THE OTHER........WHEN I GOT MY CWP WHEN THEY FIRST CAME ALONG, THE POLICE OFFICER THAT GAVE THE CLASS SAID......WHO CARES ABOUT A SIGN NO ONE WILL KNOW UNLESS YOU ARE DEFENDING YOUR LIFE, THEN SO WHAT. THAT WAS HIS QUOTE NOT MINE. MAYBE THINGS HAVE CHANGED?

Do those stinking signs really mean anything?

Maybe up here in the Socialist Republic of Moscowchusetts, But you all might be one of the last bastions of civil rights that the law abiding citizens have here in the USSA! I hope and pray that Scott Brown may lead the reversal of our Amendment castration up here, either that or bide my time until I may relocate to a free state... long live the South!!!

Just saw it today at Riverbanks Zoo. A non compliant sign. "No...., No...., No..., No weapons. Went in anyways.

Just got an email today that Toys R Us is now a No Go. I wouldn't normally post that but, Christmas time will be upon us soon, and I know that alot of you have young ones to buy presents for.

Did they change their sign? I'll drive by it later today and look.

It's probably a company policy change. Like most companies that don't allow CC they will put up any old sign. If it's not compliant I'll ignore it like I do almost all no carry signs.

While in complete agreement about the dismissal of non compliant signs, here's a thought. If the sign is compliant, or the premises off-limits by statute and you choose to carry anyway, Castle Doctrine may not be available to you. Don't throw away the protections, and immunity from civil liability, afforded you.

Anyone have a copy of that buisness card that says- something along these lines- I am a ccw carrier- I shop and chose to shop where legal carry is allowed etc.....

That is absolutly correct and right from the sled law. Remeber also it has to be posted on ALL doors even employee and service doors or it doesn't matter. Now they can ask you to leave even if it isn't posted everywhere only because of private property.

Regal Cinemas on Bower Parkway may not be compliant. They have 1 sign on the left hand side of the the ticket booth and none by the doors.

What do you guys think?

IMO not compliant. Signs are suppose to be at each entrance.

It does not matter about our opinion. You should be asking the judge that will convict you. Or maybe ask the attorney who will defend you. Or maybe the cop that will come and arrest you in cuffs and confiscate your weapon. The bondsman who you will pay. Or the drunk in the tempeorary lockup. Or maybe you should ask another martyr, if it was worth it? Freightening socer moms ands their God fearin chilren is a tricky subject. :o

Easy answer-get netflicks. Unbuttered popcorn cooked 3 min ago is much better than chemically infused popcorn cooked 5 days ago. The Dollar General store has the same candy bars for .75 rather than $3.98. My soda cost $1.99 a six pack rather than 4.25 per cup. There are no snotty nosed kids or loud teenagers in my living room. In my living room the scenery is much better, especially when the wife puts on that lacy thingy

Why do you think this. SC law is pretty spicific about this.
...(B) All signs must be posted at each entrance into a building where a concealable weapon permit holder is prohibited from carrying a concealable weapon and must be:...
....(6) placed not less than forty inches and not more than sixty inches from the bottom of the building?s entrance door.....

Re: The list of Shame (places where concealed carry is banne

The law is specific for a reason. Signs like that I ignore. All they can do is ask you to leave if you fail to leave then you can be arrested.
