Tactical Two-Gun Championship at Heartland, 02-17-13

Did I mention that one of the prizes for the 2-Gun shooters is a box of .22 long rifle?

I'll be there. I'm just trying to figure out what I'm going to be doing about a pistol.

Well, just found out today that I'm going to need to be in Texas the next morning, so I'll be on the road during the match. Seem like 2 hours after posting that I got called into the managers office (cube) for a "we really need you to do this talk".

So, I'm not going to be able to make it, so needing a pistol is a bit moot now, but I'll definitely be attending these in the future.

Thank you for the offer, I might need it next time.

I was going to say, Steve has a sweet Glock 24 he could let you borrow.

This will be a good warm up for the OKCGC 3-Gun, but it'll be a hoot all by itself.

Will have a "interesting" shot for the rifle shooters. It's an easy shot, per se, but the pressure one may feel might make it feel more difficult....

(psssst, know your offset!)

Pressure...
Like your going to be standing on our foot?
Offset at what distance?

I didn't realize this month was a two gun. Gonna have to fire up the Nordic .22 rifle tonight.

Yup, it is!

It's also the regular Tactical Action match if anyone wants to only shoot one gun.

Good match! I had fun! Thanks to David and Benjamin for all the hard work.

Just about every rifle shooter made the "hostage taker brain shot" in the required time frame. You were behind a wall and knew there was an armed hostage taker on the other side. At signal, you stepped out and had ONE chance to make the brain hit in 2.5 seconds. If you missed, you got a miss penalty AND a no-shoot penalty, on the premise the hostage was killed because you failed to stop the hostage taker from doing so. Not a hard shot, per se, but the stakes were high and everyone was glad I added a 1/2 second to the original time frame.

On another stage, the 1/4 scale IPSC targets were engaged before going prone to take out the 1" exploding plates.

All in all, both pistol and rifle shooters were faced with different challenging stages.

Tactical Two-Gun Championship 2013 trophies were awarded to HOA in centerfire, (Wes) rimfire (me) and High Lady (Kelly). In addition, a coveted box of .22 ammo was awarded by random draw, as was a $50 gift certificate to the Tac 2-gun participants.

Thanks to everyone for coming out!
