If you like practicing quick mag changes, speed shooting, shooting on the move and from complex situation, shooting accuracy, and shooting in the company of some of the best shooters in this area, ProAm is your match. With over 30 falling steel targets per stage, no silly rules, and fast pace action, this is certainly my favorite kind of shooting.

Oil Capital will host 2 ProAm matches this month, Saturday June 21 and Sunday June 29.

Also don't forget about our Steel Challenge match on Sunday June 22.

Although traditionally designed for centerfire pistols, Oil Capital is one of the only places (only one that I know of) where you can shoot ProAm (effectively) with rimfire rifle or pistol as well.

Start cranking on the reloading press handle, or carrying on with your weekly trip to Wali World; this will be a fun month at Oil Capital. Keep an eye out for posting the week of each match.

Hope to see you at the range.

Nice! Are these similar to the ProAm matches that USSA hosts? Par times and such?

Close there are no poppers or stars just lots of small square falling steel plates

Yes but with a lot of plates instead of poppers. that's why you can use rimfire.
Renato puts on a really fun match.

Our groups have been smaller than at USSA. I think the largest bunch we have had is 32.
And a good chunk is rimfire shooters.
Also, you guys remember the comments from Jeff on how much work it is to set up poppers. No way I could do that. Remember we never ask for help setting up.
The small targets allow me to set up by myself and with John's Oxford's help early in the morning.
It is really fun to shoot this match with a 22AR, especially with mags that slide/drop out at the push of a button.
We have a couple of Texas stars, and are working on getting a rimfire star that we could set up in the same stage.
One thing that I do really like about our targets is they drop. Invariable with the poppers,we would have some you hit and they don't drop; that's pretty darn annoying.
I had a lot of fun shooting with Wall and Hoover last time... in the pouring rain.
Hope more of you OKC guys can come down and play with us.

I was wondering if y'all were dragging out 100 poppers every other weekend. That would be tough.

Can a guy shoot Rimfire rifle?

Are there par times?

Are there mag capacity limits?

Man Rimfire rifle sounds fun. Don't know if I have enough mags. I have enough drums but those don't like being dropped so much.

I have a rifle with a red dot you can borrow.
Would love to have you at our match - Might have to bring with you some of 'em SA decals to put all over it :-)
