I am a student going for bachelors in special education from Florida ended up seeing a 3gun match one day on the tv found a local range and been hooked ever since! Just starting to get my own gear and start to compete in my local matches so I'll be asking for some help from time to time.

I shoot at a local indoor range that a buddy owns J&J one stop as for matches I go to hansen range out in Punta Gorda Fl. It is a nice private range with a few bays mainly 3-4 stage monthly matches. The big matches I hear you have to head to frostproof at the academy.

But very cool enjoying the forums so far and thanks I will have a few I'm sure!

Big matched are mostly at Frostproof. But local 3gun is also at Manatee gun range about an 1hr+ north of you. We go there every month

Very cool Ill have to check that out I know some Sarasota people that come to Punta Gorda that have mentioned that manatee one.

Manatee is a little new to 3gun, but they are building better stages every month, and buying new targets all the time. One thing I like is the fee you pay to shoot the match allows you to shoot at the range all day. many times they will leave the stages up and you can practice them after you finish, so if you screwed up, you can figure out how to fix your mistake.

BTW, my real name is Rob Gee. Look up Shooters Tampa Bay on Facebook. It's a local group I shoot with. I'm not gonna make this months Manatee match since my pistol is still at Bobby Carvers shop, but I will be there next month.

That is awesome is it open Terran course or more small bays? I know Hansen doesn't have anything over 100 yards do to it being mostly small bays. Also with it being a private range unless you sign up for a membership you can't practice there as they rip down the stages right after the event. Though if I sign up I get a key to the gate and use of all the targets and who doesn't enjoy practicing on a Texas star. I will definitely check it out and thanks for the great info I will see if I can not get out there next month, still working on getting a shotgun.

They have open bays with burms. 2 are 35yard bays, and they have a bay that goes out to 150. They just finished some new bays that they built just for the action shooting that I have not seen yet, but have heard they are nice from the guys I shoot with. Up front they also have a 1000 yard range, but that's not used for 3gun. You pay $25 as a non member, and that gives you access to the entire range for the day. Last time I was there I was having issues with loading dueces on my shotgun and I stayed back after we finished and shot the shotgun portion of one of the stages 5 or 6 times. You just are required to have someone there who can RO you.

Membership is $150 the 1st year, and $100 after that. Members shoot 3gun for $10 a match, and it's heald on the 2nd Saturday of the month.

I honestly prefer Frostproof, just due to the quality and size of the range. But it would be a long drive for you. Manatee is 35 minutes for me, while Frostproof is 1hr 20.

Wow very cool and some great pricing. Ya manatee would be about a hour and a half and it sounds great I will definitely have to give it a shot one of these days. As for Frostproof I hear it's amazing thought it is a hour and 50 minute drive from my house but still. If I make it out to manatee I will look for ya though thanks for the info.
