Stylin' When I Shoot

Shape-ups would be nice, but these would be silent and deadly!

I had some of those as a kid. I just sold them at a garage sale for $3 last fall. Had I known you back then...

I had these when I was kid - walking around NYC was a bit** - Don't know how the chinese even wore these

Wearing them on rough ground doesn't seem like a great idea.

Yeah, they just look like they provide absolutely zero support.
I can understand on a flat level track type environment.
But on eneven rocky terain, give me something that goes up over my ankle.

Ok. So I worked in the footwear industry for many years. I no longer work for manufacturers, but I'm still in the loop.

Inov-8 is a cool, small company that the big giants look to for ideas to copy. Their shoes are very high quality, very low profile, and very light. They were among the first to spawn the minimalist movement. Yes. they're twice as much as an Adidas that is built for the mass market, but they are nicer. They are ugly, they are a UK based company and they do not get the US consumer. Jesse, you can check them out at Edmond Summit on Broadway in downtown Edmond, I think they are the only Inov-8 dealer in OK.

I sell Vibram Five Fingers all freakin day long. I wouldnt be caught dead in a pair. But it took my store a year to get them, and we cant keep them in stock. Every housewife, every Jr High kid, and every metrosexual has to have a pair. I sell them to little old ladies for water aerobics...They make running, trail running, yoga, and watersport versions, with casual styles coming soon. Whats the big deal? It's all about trying to be barefoot, without having to be barefoot.
Minimalism is the trend in running/athletic shoes. The most popular shoes in this category (besides the VFF's) are zero-drop designs from Merrell and New Balance.

I have all but stopped wearing cleats (when I wear cleats, it's Adidas Turf Hogs)
I was wearing some mountain running shoes from LaSportiva (they gave me some for T&E) and I really liked them.
Now that mine are worn out, I may to have to buy a pair. But they're a little funny looking and pretty tight for fat little American feet.

I've been splitting between Oboz trail runners and the Adidas Kanadia. Both sit a little high and have more heel drop than I like. They are also a bit squishy...for lateral starts and stops I prefer something lower and firmer.

I still do a bit of consulting in the footwear industry and I continue to be on the lookout for a good pair of 'almost cleats'.

I have a pair of solomon's similar to these. They have been really good kicks so far and they are gortex.
These are more aggressive than the ones I have.

I too wear a half to full size larger in my Adidas than in Nike. I especially prefer Adidas for this reason. 11 1/2 is no big deal but when I tell the young lady at the shoe store I need a 12 1/2 I usually get a wink or smile.

damn, I wear a size 13 wide normally. I might just get raped if I have to come in and ask for a 14W.

Hell I think I am about to go broke buying shoes. :whoo:

This is what I'm gunna get next. Perfect In every way. I think

Hey Matt, I think your link is broken - When I clicked on it, it went some weird boot and not the Adidas cleats I had posted.

Do you have a shoe shop in AR?

I now manage an outdoor gear shop in Ft Smith...The Woodsman Co.
We sell clothing, outerwear, footwear, backpacks, flyfishing stuff, kayaks, etc.

Thats what the Rudy Project Shooting Team wears now. I'm not a fan of Salomon (but that is more of a business thing than a product thing, although those fancy french shoe laces are fragile and their warranty dept is lame)

I found the socks that go with those ninja toe shoes

Hey All how's this for an idea if Rob can hook us up with a group buy on some new kickers we can do a first ever Group Buy Road Trip - I'm calling Shotgun with JT :1rij:

Dan, why does it not surprise me that you have a pair of these?
And that you wear them enough, there's no tread left.

Tony, don't be such a hater. lol... We all can't run around wearing work boots and shorts looking like the village people like you can, and get away with it!
