Steel Challenge this Sun 8-3-14 @ USSA

This Sunday is Steel Challenge at USSA, one of the top shooting facilities in the nation.

Sign-in at 9:30am and start shooting at 10:00am. We will be shooting six stages with a round count of around 200. We will have all the normal divisions: Rimfire pistol optic/iron, Centerfire pistol optic /iron, and Rimfire rifle iron/optic. USSA members $10.00, non-members $15.00, and second gun $5.00.

Remember 6 Steel Challenge Stages are always set up at USSA and no set up or tear down is needed.

USSA will also be having their USPSA match on this day.

Some of you have mentioned you are bringing new shooters this weekend, which is great. As some of you know, a friend of mine, wearing a cast on her foot, shot Steel Challenge with us last weekend. This was her first time ever shooting a gun, and of course, her first match. She did well and was very excited about it. Steel Challenge is the simplest of the speed shooting matches and is ideal for beginners, yet challenging and exciting for experienced competitors. These matches are great opportunities to bring a friend or a family member who is new to shooting and is interested in becoming proficient. With a little help from the guys who volunteer to be SOs, and who do an outstanding job, chances are they will have a great time (of course, please review all safety rules with your new shooters, and make sure they understand and can follow these.)

For the ones of you who are experienced competition shooters, Steel Challenge will certainly help you with accuracy and trigger control., with immediate feedback. This is ideal practice to do better at our ProAm matches.
