Are there any out there? I know there are occasional BUG matches, but I don't have a BUG. I was tinkering with my CZ 61 skorpion (.32acp), and thinking it would be a blast to shoot a uspsa style match with it. I know bullseye allows .32 and up, but the skorpion is definitely not a 50 yard, one handed gun. Lol. Are there ever any side matches that would cater to such an idea?

Occasionally tri city will do a supplemental carry gun stage.
Heartland was the place to do it, but they gone now.

Oh...heartland with it's "IDPA-Like" match?

IF you folks would actually join and support IDPA we could get some rules changed and promote actual competition with BUG guns.... Duffers....

Jeff, I may poke a little fun here and there with a smartass comment, but I haven't been bashing on IDPA so please just settle down and accept that most of the members here like USPSA over IDPA for various reasons and getting them to change their minds won't be an easy task.

I think any type of sport shooting is a good way to build up your skills and I encourage anyone to try out all avenues to see which fits their liking.
I shot the heartland match a few times with my carry gun to keep familiarity with it because it was a shorter IDPA style of match and I learned a couple things about how I should carry while doing those matches. I never did the fishing vest thing because well, I don't wear one on a daily basis and I personally think it's dumb looking.

Anywho, I'm getting kinda sick of seeing all the IDPA vs USPSA bullshit so I'm just going to stop there and be done with it.

LOL....how do you think we feel. After all the mast head here says this is a firearms community.

I see a bias against traditional shotgun sports here too....

I don't know that there's a bias against it, i think it's more of a lack of knowledge of it since most don't shoot it, it's not talked about too much.
I'd love to shoot a skeet/trap match but I don't know the first thing about it. Rules on guns, rules on shooting, locations etc.
I'd like for another one to get going like they had a couple years ago at Silverleaf so I could check it out. I wasn't able to make it last time.

IMHO i have never heard any bashing on the shot gun sport side. only time was when someone ask if the tv show would go over well. other than that iv seen no bashing and I love shooting trap. it is a slow down from 3 gun, uspsa and steel challenge . as far as idpa...... well i agree with matt and will say no more on that topic. as far as small cal stuff steel challenge is alot of fun with 22 rimfire of you are looking for that small of caliber.

Yeah not looking for rimfire matches and a skorpion in .32acp is bigger than a 1911. Don't think idpa BUG matches are the spot for that. Haha. However, that would be fun if I actually had a BUG. Not looking for flame wars, just more ways to shoot more guns in more competitions.

I would shoot IDPA but the fishing vest makes me look fat.
A semi-pro once told me it was my fat that made me look fat. :D

Sporting Clays friggin rocks. It's the 3 gun of the clays world.

Make a holster for the skorpion, show up to a local pistol match and shoot for no score. Sounds like a good time to me. Could probably do steel challenge too.

Crap now I want one. How turdy is the trigger on one of those? How many do the mags hold?

I always shot my carry gun, and the BUG .380 at the Heartland matches. Great practice, and an eye opener shooting under stress and low light on some stages.

It was a blast when the Oklahoma BoomerShooter went to Silverleaf and shot sporting clays. I will have to dig up a picture of all the shotguns with extended tubes loaded on JT's gun rack on his 4 wheeler/utility vehicle.

We need to do this again. I'm not sure about Silver leafs schedule. I've heard they are almost always booked up for corp. shoots.

Lol its not that bad. It's not that good either though. Kind of your standard com bloc feeling. They generally come with 2 20 round mags and a 10 round mag. They also usually come with a mag pouch for the 20's and a drop leg holster. The only thing that's a little crappy to me is that it has the standard military tiny sights. They aren't horrible, but they definitely aren't a hiviz, lol. It's a lot of fun to shoot. Makes me wish I had some more pistol powder that I could load .32 with. Haha.
