A Nordic +9 with my +2 cap. 14 in the tube. Standard Nordic spring, uncut. Yes it will shoot the end off - isn't that the goal?!

Not being a shotgun person, I wouldn't know. That's why I asked. Obviously you're not looking for handyness by going to a shorter barrel, or you wouldn't want a 4' long mag tube.

I didn't know if it would affect accuracy or velocity was my thought.

Longer barrels typically knock down steel at further distances. I don't love them because the extra weight makes them feel more sluggish. With that said I just bought a 30" Browning A5 to play with.

You'd have to ask someone more knowledgable about patterns and shot velocity to tell you why the longer barrels have more knock down power. I've read that it's more due to better pattern than velocity. But you can't always believe what you read on the Internet.
