Received it a couple weeks ago. He did an amazing job on it. Turnbull Charcoal blue. I've always wanted a 1911 charcoal blue gun, so I went with it. I'll end up swapping the grips out at some point. Had a spare set of mammoth I put on it. I'm hoping this weekend I finally have time to get out to shoot it. Sons sports, wisdom teeth surgery, etc.. I've had no time. I'll report back once I finally get out to shoot it.

Barrel lock up.. It's tight. Tightest I've ever owned. I knew that going in, requested it. slide to frame fit, perfect. Grip safety.. it's a thing of beauty. No wiggle at all. Trigger. Very crispy and smooth break. Hard to explain. I love my Nighthawks. but this gun, no comparison. Hope that makes sense: This is my first true custom. I get it now.

But, again, nothing wrong with my Nighthawjs or Guncrafter. Both are great. 1 man shop custom.. More attention to the finer parts. Will I see a difference shooting, quite possible I don't. I'm not that good.

The entire process from ordering to getting it, Rob and Jill were TOP NOTCH. Rob sent me numerous pictures as the build progressed, Jill on top of the other side of things, great. I know, customs like this cost more; but with price increases among the "semi custom" builders, THIS build made sense to me at the time: A grail type of build i've wanted for 5+ years. I have my charcoal blue 1911 now, I'm good.. for a bit. I definitely have a couple builds I want done and it will be with Rob at Schauland Performance. Hope all is well everyone!
