Post here on any news related to the Feb 2-3 show. I heard some of the ammo dealers were simply backing out due to lack of inventory.

I suppose due to the recent rush, we have a slew of newbies at these shows. If you go, see if you can pick them out and report back your theories. I want to know who's actually paying these incredibly inflated prices.

Was going to head over there this morning but fell through.

Might be heading up there tomorrow though

Heading over there right now. Hope I don't have to stand in line in the cold.

Just got back from the show. VERY crowded. There were assault rifles for sale at high prices. 223 ammo at very high prices. I was hoping to buy reloading supplies. There were none.

I was at the Greenville Gunfighters table until about 2:00 today. I didn't get much chance to look around at the other tables but I noticed one ammunition seller had folks packed around the table; I couldn't get close enough to check prices. I meant to look for the Georgia Arms table but someone told me they had not come, nothing to sell.

Lots of folks stopped by our table to talk about cowboy action shooting and see our pictures and videos. We had a new banner that made us more visible this time. I brought 100 handouts with match info and they were almost all gone by the time I left. A couple of our new shooters were there shopping for guns; I steered one of them to a table where I had seen a Baikal for sale.

If any Forum members saw the table I'd be interested to know that you thought.

It looked like fun. Don't have anything that falls into that older weapon category though :|

Btw, if you see someone standing there listening to the video with a t-shirt "My DOG is the least of your concerns" (where the O is a 1911's barrel), that's a forum member :)

Saw Jeff up there, picked up some 45 FMJ and 300BLK. Great stuff and Jeff always treats me well and that's why I buy his ammo: Great ammo + great CS = loyal customer :D
UAG Bob was so busy when I was up there, I didn't really get to chat with him.

Didn't see GA Arms. Apollo Bullet was there but couldn't get close enough to grab anyone's attention. Precision One was there selling the hot calibers by the bucket. Their table was picked clean by lunchtime (Sat).

Going rate for GI mags $30, Magpuls $35. I say going, but they didn't seem to be going anywhere at that price. A friend went on Sunday and reported back prices $10 lower, still not moving inventory. I didn't notice the AR's being picked clean either. I think this whole supply/demand thing has been blown way out of proportion (except ammo; I did see folks paying $800/1000 for 223).

And yes there were lots of folks there who probably never thought of a gun before two months ago.

Crowded is an understatement. Photos taken at 10:45 and noon Saturday.

Got there about 8:40. Parked maybe 200 yards from the door. I was inside by 9:10. By the time I got in, the line behind me was unbelievable.
My friend Mike & I got all the ammunition we wanted (all from Jeff at Precision One) except .22LR. Jeff's area was packed!
Got a really good deal on a Ruger Super Redhawk .44 Mag.
Saw all kinds of firearms (except AR & AK's) at decent prices.
Plenty of AR's at really high prices.
No North Georgia Reloading or Georgia Arms booths.
Overall, better than I expected, but there were a lot of empty tables.

futz, i like how you just happened to take that 2nd pic at just the right time. :P

Wow, that line is crazy. Not sure I would have waited.

Paco, when I got started in cowboy I didn't have any "legal" firearms either. Other shooters invited me to try their guns, which was great because it let me decide which ones were right for me. I always tell people who might be interested that they should not wait until they buy a cowboy gun before checking out a match.
