Reloading Bench Help - Need Tools

Sam's club sells a knockoff of the Gladiator table for about $200. I have two of them anchored to the wall and together. They worek great and look good too. Then I have some gladiator gear cabinets up above and a few of the rolling Sam's club knock offs below. Good stuff and you can buy it piece by piece when you can afford it.

If you want to bring your littel bench over to my garage Sunday we can watch football, build your bench, reload some ammo, and drink something cold.

Sounds like I need to renew my Sams membership. That would have saved me some moola. But I got $90 off at Sears and the top actually looks really nice, so I'm happy. But I'll definitely go look for cabinets. A buddy of mine got a knockoff of a Gerstner wooden machinists chest combo at Costco once for an absolute song. I'm looking....

This is what I want:

But then I wussed out and bought this:

You talking to me here?!?!?!?!

Since I spent all Monday setting you up for 40 - when are we gonna test drive that bad boy - lets buy some bullets and go for it

I think bolts are a great idea. Never know if/when you may have to move the bench. Or move it through a doorway.

Check out THE bench thread over at The High Road. http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=218720

Lots of good ideas there.

Call around before you buy wood. You can find some good deals if you let your fingers do the walking. Check out Forest Lumber over on Rock Creek Rd and Hwy 77.

Good looking bench Whitey. I like the 2x top on it especially. That's plenty strong for supporting presses . I built mine with 2x6 joists underneath it on 12" centers. Then I topped it off with 1-1/8 " floor decking. I put 2x12 laying flat underneath where the presses mount for extra support. The legs are cca treated 4x4's , but , only on the front. I lag bolted the back into the studs in the wall behind it. I will probably eventually post some pics of it , but , I use it all the time and stays pretty messy. I do clean it all up and organize it about twice a yr rather it needs it or not. I will try to snap some pics of it then. This will be a long living thread that will help everybody and the pics and ideas will grow with it. Most of the big boards have similar threads that are ongoing. I never looked at any of the forums when I built mine. I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted and how to get there. I work in a construction trade . So I picked up almost all of the materials for free.
