Really need advice on an optic for a Glock

As you may be aware I am trying to build a semi-race Glock based on a G34.
I am trying to do as much of the work myself as possible.
Since I don't compete this is just a toy so I am on a budget.
I have been thinking I would like to have an optic to help my old tired eyes.

CDNN (page 106 and 107 of the current online catalog) has a heck of deal on Docter II and Trijicon optics.
The sights and the mount appear to be the real deal.
I can manage the price on either, I just don't have a clue which would be the better of the two.

Advice please.

Have you ever used this type of optic on a handgun. I tried one on a friends race gun and him nor I liked it. I think it just comes down to preference. He ended up selling his. Not sure what brand he had. I would suggest finding somebody who has one first and shooting theirs before you drop the dough unless your positive it is for you.
