Range time

Hey Ben, we must be close to each other. I am in Hanahan, other end of the reservoir. Me and the family will hopefully get out there Sunday morning. I like to get the around 8:00am. Had a Black Powder rifle given to me (love free guns!) and want to try this thing out. Hope to bring some of the old sticks from the collection. Mosin Nagant 91/30 sniper, Maybe an Enfield Mk5 no1 and M95 "Stutzen", all are good shoulder thumpers for that concussive therapy we all seek.
 
family feels its too hot to shoot so I will be there myself on Saturday around 9:00ish, maybe I'll see you there.
 
Going out to the range in Pickens on Wednesday (Lord willing, and if the creek don't rise) to see how well I can shoot slugs out of my shotgun. Might do some pistol shooting as well.

And I think my father-in-law just might be convinced to bring an AR and his Mosin....
 
finally got to boggy head on saturday morning. Took a friend and his soon to be 12 yr old son. First time shooting for either of them so I took some easy to shoot stuff. After a quick but thorough safety talk they settled into a nice session of shooting. the youngster was amazingly accurate with the 22, 25, and the 9mm pistols hitting the target with the first shot and almost all the rest. His dad was good but not as good as junior. later we shot the 22 rifle and a couple of single shot rifles in 223 and 45/70. Both were scoped so accuracy was good from both shooters. I believe we have a couple of converts to the gun culture. On the trip home the conversation was centered around gun and ammo prices as well as when a return trip to the range could be scheduled.

As a side note we met some really great folks out there. Several asked the new shooters if they wanted shoot some of their weapons. My buddy took one guy up and fired several rds thru his AR. This had his heart racing......
 
I'll be out there after lunch on Sunday (Boggy Head). I have a new Rossi Circuit Judge that is calling my name! Hope to see some familiar faces...
 
Oh does my muzzle blast offend you? hehe

Went to the range this past afternoon, had a blast, shot a KSG, wont be doing that again. So much FUN, SO MUCH FUN!

Had my loudest BOOM sticks out, ask the guy next to me...

Oh yeah - what a treat to be seated next to that freaking thing!
The first round was an attention getter for sure.


Had a good time also and it was nice running into you guys again.
 
Went out to Boggyhead after voting. Was nice chill and the smell of spend gunpowder made it worth every second. Rock RIver AR still functions, haha. I needed some range time, after the past week....
 
I went to ATP gun range yesterday with my S&W M&P 15 22 and my S&W 2206.......Will add pics later today.............................................................I usually go to Boggy Head or Twin Ponds during the week when it is less crowded...Week ends seems to bring out some scary careless shooters also....

2" blue squares of tape were to mark POAs to get more use out of the silhouette target.

Yes, but where else can you shoot longer distance around here without owning the land, or being a paying member of some club?
 
PCS......Distance shooting is becoming a thing of the past in this part of SC........My Rems in 7mm mag and 308 are were zeroed at 100 yards ten years ago and haven't been fired since then........The Palmetto Gun Club is ridiculously expensive, but if you have cash to burn that is the only place I know that has at least 300 yards.
