Range bag tools

What tools do you guys carry in your range bags to every match? I am looking into some kid of multi-tool with various hex, star, and screwdrivers to keep in my bag for small repairs and adjustments.

Do you find it better to keep a small bag of individual tools instead of a multi-tool?

I keep a small set of gun smith screw drivers in the truck... and a punch or two. I shoot a Glock some ... so there is a front sight socket in there.

Multi tools are ok... I never seem to have what I need on one when I need it. I'd think the answer really depends on what you shoot.

Not much to fix on a Smith and Wesson revolver in the feild.... a Cowboy action shooter is packing a full spring set if he's got a Colt clone and travels some.

I try to carry a spare gun.

An 8" length of 5/16" Brass rod to use as a drift, incase some one gets one stuck in the pipe.

5/16" (7.93mm) will easily fit down a 9mm barrel.
And the brass will not scare the barrel.

I take everything that I don't want to have to use...if I leave it at home, I'll need it......

hopefully, if I bring it, I won't need it at all and my arms will be big and brawny like Corey's someday for carrying this beast of a range bag around all day


seriously though...I carry individual allens, screwdrivers, an aluminum cleaning rod, bore snakes, punch, sight tool, glock tool, extra fiber, needle nose pliars etc etc

The only tool I need at the range usually drives himself, Cyrwus.

I quit carrying tools to matches, I'm usually in a vehicle with 3-4 other shooters who keep a fully stocked range bag. No need for me to carry around what they already have, I just take my ammo bag.

I carry a screwdriver set, a punch set with with a small brass hammer, and a cleaning rod usually. Not much you can't accomplish on a revo with those tools. Plus, I generally keep a small tool set in my truck.

Dan, good idea. I have a portable cleaning kit that has a .22 rod that is perfect for just that purpose.

Seriously Jason you need to add a lighter, I felt really put out when I had to borrow the fiber optic for my front sight I must have asked at least four people for a light. I was just glad you had the fiber optic thanks again.
I try to include a few zip ties in the range bag.

I carry pretty much what all has already been said, but I also carry some oil.

If you reload with range brass for rifle it is handy to have an Otis cleaning kit in case you have a case head separation. Just run it in there with a bristle brush and pull it out.

Squib rod, small gunsmithing screwdriver set, cleaning kit and a first aid kit for when the slide bites me. Oh, canned air to blow out the mags when I drop them.

I carry an allen wrench for tightening my mag pouch screws, one small screwdriver for adustable sights, and a lighter for FO rod. But I generally have a set of tools in the car.

If I'm driving more than 2 hours another gun is going with me.

If anything has become apparent to me it's that a twin to your competition gun is a good investment.
