man-o-man! I like that too.
It has a very balanced look to it too.

I've been around Fordnut's SKS, I may have even shot it once, but I've never owned one.
Is that in 7.62?

Crap, I gotta quit looking at that thing before I go looking for one.

Yep, thats a 7.62x39. Its a sks (M) model. Factory made to accept ak mags. And yes - It is very balanced. Fits the sholder very well. I like the 20 rd hungarian mags best. You can drag this thing through any forest area and the mag does not get hungup on vines and branches like the 30 rd does. The 20 rd mags seem to help balance the rifle better. It is dressed in a Ramline winter stock with a cheese grater handguard. This same ramlin stock is still made today but not in that color. This stock was made in the early 1990' as a paintable stock. It has a "rough, ready to paint" surface. Not slick and slippery at all. This is my "go to" gun. It is always very close by. It will do a 6-8 inch group with off the shelf ammo at 100 yards. Other shooters get better groups than I do with the same gun. And hand loads improves that a lot too. It seems to tighten up after heating up a bit.

If you want to buy a sks, now is the time! I saw a sks "M" sell this week on GB for 325.00  A couple of guys on Survivors sks board have made local purchases in the 300.00 range. They have not been that low in 8 or more years.
If you are interested in a good sks, give me a PM and I will help ya find a good one. I cannot afford to collect them anymore, but the hunt is always fun. I will try and remember to bring that one to the spring shoot.

Panther M4
Glock .40
Mossgurg 835 "tube holds 5 rounds inted of 4"

Everything on my list has been checked off long ago. Now I just have to rotate the food by expiration dates.
The best thing is, my road is a dead end out in the country. All my neighbors have prepared for emergency senarios as well.
Some teen thugs came down here once bashing mail boxes and we closed the proverbial gate on them. When they cross the creek they could not get back out. 4 armed men where on them in seconds.

I would take a Glock 26 for maximum concealment yet ability to use larger magazines. Common mags and common ammo is a plus.

My long gun would be one of my Short Barrel AK's in 7.62

My wife would take her Glock 36 along with my other Short Barrel AK in 7.62

At least we'll be able to share mags and ammo for our long guns and her handgun being in the other most popular handgun caliber in America doubles the liklihood that if we find ammo (steal, salvage, trade or buy) we'll be able to use it.

I want our rifles to be small enough to fold up and hide in the backpacks we'll be using to carry our other supplies in case we come upon an area where guns are "no go." A thirty caliber rifle that can fit into a backpack is an ideal weapon for blending into a crowd of evacuees.

I would take my MP5 and, when I get another, a Glock 20 in 10mm. If it don't die after a shot or two of 10, it ain't gonna die!!!

Glock 19

AR-15 16" scoped upper and a short barreled upper with a red dot in the pack (I cheated)

870 super mag

I already live in the middle of nowhere so I just need to procure a Ma Deuce or Mk 19.

Well for me it would have to be.......

DSA FAL Para Carbine with IOR Valdada 3x25.

Glock 23 slightly modified.

I don't own a shotgun, I hate recoil.

I keep large quantities of this ammo for these on hand.

Im gonna have to go with . . .
Smith and Wesson M&P40 fullsize
Norinco SKS w/ detachable 20rnd/40rnd mags
(would go with my AR or my Mini14 but my SKS is incredibly reliable)
and if we are adding a shotgun to the mix
I only have an HD Mossberg 500 and a bolt action Savage 58 at the moment.
But as soon as I am done building my AR I am looking into another shotgun
thinking something along the lines of an 870 but I would mind a Mossberg 590 either.
Eventually sometime down the road I want to get a Saiga 12 and covert it
with the Kushnapup body.

It all depends on what is going on and who I was trying to fight (or get away from). I doubt I would carry two long guns if I had to keep moving so I would go with maybe an MP5 and a Hi-Cap 9mm pistol and leave my shotgun at home. That way I only had to carry one caliber of ammo. Ideally both barrels would be threaded and I could take along a suppressor in my backpack so I could be all stealthy. 8-)

Handgun....................Taurus 24/7 pro in 45 ACP sweet shooter & dependable

Rifle..........................Mauser in 8MM tried & true with a proven track record

Shotgun....................Remington model 870 lightweight magnum in 20 gauge.....easy to use light recoil for close up fighting

For across the board disasters (all kinds).....

Slightly modified Glock 23 (I designed the holster myself)

I don't have a shotgun. I hate recoil.
Can I add a sub instead?
If so, I'll choose one of my 22lr rifles, Ruger 10/22 or my Marlin model 60's.
Small, handy, lightweight rifles (including ammo). That's my sub for a shotgun. Also I would want to bring my Sig 226.
