i just bought a rifle with an older redfield scope on it.i'm guessing early 90's scope.the ffl i bought it from said it would prob be a good idea to send it back to redfield and have it refilled with gas.think i should send it back?is there a way to tell if it needs to be refilled with gas?or should i just leave it monted as is and choot'em?

If it ain't broke...

Seems like I read the older Redfield's are top notch. The new one's maybe not so much.

Really? I'd heard that there was an upswing in their product since Leupold purchased the company a few years back. Looks like I'll have to go mining for reviews because Redfield and Weaver are the two scopes i'm looking at.
