Is PCC the new Open?
Seems like it.

Long sight radius, start from a low ready position rather than holster draw. Slightly tougher movement but with more accurate shots less needed to get A zone hits.

I can hardly wait to try my new JP. Maybe someday Make Ready Pro shop will let me come pick it up.
I always found bringing him cash was the secret combination to the gun safe.

Long sight radius? A C-More doesn't really have a radius... :) Significantly tougher movement and muzzle control. You still have to have a good trigger pull and stay in the shot to get A's, and it's all scored minor if you don't. Eric and I got our fair share of C's and D's. I promise that Kelly Raglin, Heath Vincent, etc can still draw and shoot an open gun faster than most can get the carbine on target and get the safety off from low ready, in most cases. There is a significant advantage for a fella that can shoot a carbine really well, but just like most of our guys have found out switching to open, it's not as easy as it may appear..

I'm not really sure low ready with the rifle is of any advantage, but it's irrelevant anyway. If you're not shooting PCC, you shouldn't worry about pcc times or start positions. It's just a different flavor of the game.

I'll say it....PCC is the shznit!!!!!
I'll be shooting it mixed with open & limited, maybe a little production mixed in here & there. I just wish uspsa would allow shooting more than 1 division at a match.

Pinto, did the board discuss anything in the way of getting bumped to open from pcc for any kind of equipment changes? If my rifle goes down can I get out my open gun & finish the match?

I'm not sure that's actually a "punishment" (for lack of a better term) like it would be for limited or production or revo, etc. It might be an advantage (gaming) to shoot ppc until the last stage & move to open & shoot it with your open gun. Your whole match would be scored as open not pcc.

No Sir, but I would bet that since PCC is seen as an advantage over Open (perception, not necessarily reality), it will be stand alone and no back-up guns that don't meet the PCC rules will be allowed. You have a JP, so you don't have to worry about your gun going down.. :)

Not necessarily worried about my gun, just thinking of ways it will affect the sport through gaming.

My opinion is that'd it be fair to have no place to go from pcc, just as open has no place to go in the event of an equipment discrepancy. Basically, shooting for no score at that point.

I was thinking about being able to run a sling so I could transition to my secondary if my primary goes down or transition instead of performing a reload or if my primary. ATAS!

The rules state pretty clearly that a backup gun must provide no advantage over the primary and must be legal in that division. Obviously an Open pistol is not legal in PCC and vice-versa. So you would be enjoying time as a scorekeeper or designated steel painter.. :)

Yeah, I'm not saying use an open gun in pcc. I'm talking about gamimg it by shooting pcc until the last stage then intentionally get bumped to open & win open division.

Sounds like we agree though, it doesn't make sense to be able to bump to open from pcc like you would from production or limited, etc.
