OKCGC September 28th 3-Gun Match is CANCELLED

[SIZE=medium]The September 3-Gun Match scheduled for this weekend is CANCELLED. I’ve had an email from Kurt suspending the regular 3-Gun competitions for the time being. We will advise when they can resume, but at this time it appears it will be next year before they do. Please help spread the word to any of the usual 3-Gunners out there. [/SIZE]

[SIZE=medium]No, this cancellation has nothing to do with the rifle range closure. Understandably, I’ve had a number of emails asking about the closure. While I don’t have all the specifics, it sounds like the range had been used improperly and a bullet got loose. Thankfully, nobody was injured but that is a serious safety concern. The range will require a safety review and when/if it can be re-opened, there will likely be specific rules and restrictions on target placement and procedures.[/SIZE]

Tulsa, Ft. smith, & Wichita Falls have matches this weekend and USSA in Tulsa and old fort in ft smith have regular monthly matches.

Ouch very sorry to hear this, some of us were planning to come back again this month and take another beating. You're all sure welcome to make a trip up here and shoot with us! 3G matches in Hutchinson on the 3rd Sunday of the month, 4-5 stages from point blank out to 400yds.

Tulsa, Ft Smith & Wichita Falls - 2 - 2 1/2 hours (and gas ain't exactly cheap these days), OKCGC 40 minutes. This sucks but for some reason I was concerned this would happen sooner or later. Hopefully it picks ack up again next year, otherwise I have a rifle and shotgun I don't know what to do with.

There is a range I am working with but the problem comes with the initial investment in steel targets, target stands, walls etc. I am hoping to be able to cover those expenses if my competitive shooting club is granted money by the nssf but surprisingly everything moves at a snails pace when getting approval through colleges. If anyone has the money to front, or the stuff to donate I could run a match otherwise it will be sometime before I can get one started. I am still trying and I don't give up easily.

Well crud. I only live 10 miles away and this was turning into my once a month get out of the house and blow off some steam time. Hope okcgc is able to resolve the problem and open this back up.

The cancellation had nothing to do with the rifle bay being closed, The MD's were just unable to put them on for a few months due to other obligations

The guys putting on the matches have plenty of ways to make awesome stages that don't require the rifle bay. When they are able to get back to it the matches will be as good as ever.

The old fort gun club match in ft smith is Sunday. It's 5 stages plus a 3 Gun Nation classifier stage. I think we are headed there. It's one if the best club matches around IMHO. Come on out.
