OKC Gun Club Multi-Gun

Long range is going to be the old standby of 2 autopoppers and 2 MGM's so we don't have to reset! We will shoot them from 3 positions and the long one will be at 300 yards. Be prepared to shoot from sitting and kneeling as well.

Some folks may shoot 75 or more rounds on that stage alone, so plan accordingly.. :)

Got me a NC +7 tube for the SBE today. Wont get it until friday. Does anybody know for sure if it comes with the spring? I never seem to see them in the pics.

I will need to borrow your shell holders Jesse. thanks

Gettin jacked up!! :wee_hee:

mine did I just finished installing it. I got a +6 and had to do a little spring trimming

What's an MGM - sounds official - what r the sizes - 300 with the AK -n- irons - this truly will be a day for the history books!

75+ for 4 physical targets from three positions - sounds like a stab at the ak - ha

I'm gonna have fun on this one -

One thing - if Pinto is an iron sight advocate - supposedly - I guess I should be nervous, since even he would be surprised If I hit them at that range..... Ah, whatever! I got this!!

I won't be surprised as it is a very capable firearm at that range. It is quite a bit different under the clock, but I am pulling for you. These guys will tell you that I sometimes do not even turn in my scores from these matches I run as I just like to be out there and have fun. That includes watching a feller run an AK in an AR dominated game. I am pulling for you JP. The MGM's are 10" reactive steel targets that are hung from a rotating shaft that makes the target swing on a hit. Attached to this shaft are 24x12" cards. The rear one is orange and will "flash" when the target is hit. Most people refer to them as "Flash Targets". Not a terribly hard shot but anything under 4 moa is quite sporty under the timer.
I have personally watched pretty good shooters reload their AR from the prone position at a 300 yard MGM. Not a stab at anyone, just a word of advice to maybe pack a few more rounds.

This will not be our usual high round count crazy stages. This is an abbreviated match with technical shots and low round counts. Bring your sights! :)

Looking forward to it gentlemen, and ladies (Jesse)

4 physical targets are a lot easier to hit than 4 abstract targets, so you got off easy this time.

3. You'd be surprised at how fast 2 30rnd mags can go on a long range stage, once things start to fall apart. I have some AK mags. I'll look at them & if they're in usable shape, I throw a few in the bag.

JP,
You're in luck, my AK mags are good to go. I'll have 2 30 rounders in the bag for you to use sunday.

No mmatter what you're talking about doing it is always tougher on the clock! lol... This is going to be a great match. What time will setup be starting on Saturday?

Setup should take all of about 30 minutes. We are shooting two speed shoots so they will be a few poppers and target stands on those two. The long range gets setup Sunday morning. So it is the maze stage which is going to be a long mama. We are going to use at least 12 walls and a crapload of targets. We will get out there around 2 or so.. If you want to hang around for the hitting flying crap class, we will get started at 4:00pm. I got room for one more person since Scott is going to assist..

Yessss! Oh i can assure you that I have never fired a shot at 300 with the AK. So this will be new - I'm lucky though - I'm very familiar with it at 100 and recently at 200. There is this gong thingy at tri-city - I could never get a gong sound tho - only a thud(hope that meant I hit it).

Never timed myself - first shot should help me find my rhythm - hopefully I can keep my cool -but I am really in this for fun and have nothing to lose - my ears should be covered in case I find my self blanketed in "I told you so's". :P I'm thinking that this would be the pressure I need to stay motivated and a chance to test my abilities and training!!!!!!!!

Will there be bleachers setup on the long range stage. I'd hate for the people in the back to miss JP's AK run.

Nice - you don't really have to see - just be able to listen to the ring and count the shots! I'd be a bit disappointed if I had to use more than a magazine but I've been disappointed before.
Sunday just can't get here soon enough!!!
