I'm putting a Vortex 1x6 on my build. I also have a AP carbon handguard, 15 inch. Is offset sights a must have and if so which ones?

Offsets are fast when you have to go back and forth between magnifications. I often forget to switch magnification until i look through the scope. If your scope wver breaks you can still finish a stage too. They are definitely not a mandatory piece if kit though.

Dueck defense RTS are the only option. You want that rear sight close to your eye. If you have to align anything you're faster just shooting close targets on high magnification.

U mean Dueck defense? If so and your talking about the AP customs tube you'll need the top rail on it. I don't think the one I'm selling u is predrilled for the top rail. They came out with the top rail after I bought this one. May have to ask AP customs about it.

Orginally I was going to put some Magpul back up irons on the AR I am building and the mount them on some 45 degree offset mounts but realized the rear would sit to high. So now I am just looking at the Dueck sight instead. With a Burris Tac30 or aVortex 1-4 as my primary.

Backup flip sights never made sense to me for competition because you don't have enough time to rip off your scope to use them. Come to think of it they don't make sense for anything. Why take the time to flip when u can roll the gun to the side and be shooting instantly?

I admit the plan wasn't well thouhht out. Looking at the Dueck sights and the Knihhts Armament ones. Not sure which I like best.

Dueck defense look a lot more rugged and shorter. I've never seen the KA ones at a match so that outta tell u something. Plus at $281 they should come with a scope.

I dont think youre understanding where the offsets save you time in 3 gun. You don't use the offsets unless the scope is at higher magnification and it costs you time to change the magnification. If the scopes on 1x then u use it.

Most matches don't even have a Acevedo where they save you any time. The best example of time savings would be shooting long range targets at 300 yards. Them without moving having to shoot paper up close then rend hooting the far stuff. That could be a 2-4 second time savings potentially
